So I finally watched The Penguin after all the praises I saw online...

And yeah, it's good. Far better than I expected.
It doesn't even feel like a show related to a superhero verse.

The character writing is the most impressive part of the show so far to me. I didn't expect character writing of this level from a superhero related show. Sofia for instance is such a really well-written character...

Honestly, the only reason why I was hesitant to watch it is due to the terrible writing of superhero related series like MoonKnight...

Terrible superhero verse related shows like MoonKnight completely killed any sort of vibe to watch superhero related shows...

But I'm glad I gave this show a chance

And where did IGN's 5/10 for this show come from?
The remaining episodes would have to be extremely poor to match that 5/10 scoreline

You still believe IGN ratings? Sometimes IGN doesn't review their ratings. Only a member of their team can watch it and review a series without review from other people.
There're lots of YouTubers who have watched the entire series and have all given it a 10/10

Ratings are subjective and that's just it.
Some people says that the game of thrones is their best show of all time but there are others that won't even put the game of thrones in their top 5.

This is just it, everyone like things differently.

One of the problems of this thread is that there's like a gang of trolls, or a cult maybe, that just like to attack others while projecting their views as superior and the right way to view shows..

When one of the gang of idiots comment, the rest follow behind to like the comment or support it.

Does what you wrote up there make any sense to you? Someone said everybody get weytin them like, and views are subjective. But you still find way to see a fault in that statement. Aren't views/ratings subjective?

Some non living things takes this thread and that of the movie thread as their only life's inheritance
They want to be known as authorities and alphas of movie and series thread.
A anonymous forum that even the forum owner has abandoned the forum and he is now focusing on other areas of his life.

But non living things have built mansions in the forum while people are building real mansions offline.
These non living things lives in a deluded world that they seek attention and acceptance in nairaland.

They are so deluded that they have multiple handles and the sole purposes of these handles is to use their main handles to drop something and then use their alternates to give likes
I call them fools at 40 and when you see people like this, don't waste your time and energy on them, they are just inconsequential.

If you observe the thread and nairaland in general, you will come across them.

Please!! Starve them of attention and they will begin to doubt their own existence.
