Eejit! If those things are in fact functional weapons— and not dummies made to look like real weapons—, rather than burn them, in 2024, you look for ways to recycle them or reuse them.

According to the man, the weapons are government-issued so why do they mostly look like chakabulas and pebble guns on that pile instead of the typical weapons we see members of the forces brandishing in pictures? If na true say the government may them, why not find out where and how they were taken, make certain those responsible are brought to book, and return the guns to the government or at least recycle them?
