Parenting is more resolve than skill. I can't even think of any skill off the top of my head one really has to have in order to be a parent. So long as one has enough resources to capably provide a better quality of life to the child, and the mental makeup to achieve that, one is bound to and would be a successful parent. A couple with just a dick-and-womb combo cannot accomplish any of that.
