National Grid suffers major collapse, Nigeria Electric Power supply systems collapses, was this the first time or more than 100 times from the word go since Independence. They say when the head is off it will be too late to cry again. A country in need of 200000Mw but with just less than 5000Mw yesterday, Since the word go the largest power supply operations in the country was just 8500 Mw in 1982 that was at the country's need of about 32000Mw. From A to Z which Federal governmental administration ever thought of power supply productions improvement operations in the country No. Remember during Tafawa Balewa and Yakubu Gowon military administration Kainji Hydro power Station which was started by the BRITISH Colonial Administration meant for 1200 Mw was commissioned by Yakubu Gowon with just 320Mw. Also remember Babangida military administration who say No! to governmental power supply productions money spending in the country that led to NEPA STRIKE that led to 11Jailed NEPA Union members and remember the over $16 billion dollars Power supply productions contracts by OBASANJO ADMINISTRATION. So when the head is off it will be too late to cry. So the power supply systems in the country has been dead and dead for a long time. |

adolfHitler1934:Lol, we all know politics is driven by "selfish or personal interests". Nigerians can support any party or leader they want, just like Reno Omokri is backing Tinubu's government. And by the way, Reno isn't even Yoruba! You can't single out one ethnic group for being biased just because they have political power. No tribe is perfect. For instance, during Buhari's time in power, did the Hausa people remove him because of his poor performance? Nope, they let him finish his eight years, despite all our complaints and lamentations. If an Igbo man were to be in power and things weren't looking up, it's likely that Igbo people would still support him. A testament to this fact is the hype around the Igbo candidate Obi, even though his track records doesn't match Tinubu's, Atiku's, or Kwankwaso's. It's mainly because his supporters, mostly Igbo people, want him to win. All major tribes play this tribal politics game, and honestly, that's a big reason Nigeria hasn't progressed much since independence. We need to move beyond these tribal divisions if we want to see real change. Peace! |

EdiskyHarry:The national grid was built in 1960s, is it idiotic and madness of the highest order to still expect it to carry today's demand for power. |
