bobmalu83:Since you are in Asaba I can refer you to someone who does repair there in Asaba. However if the inverter is still on warranty, then service center is your option. However you go need get person whey go do the stress of going there/following up the process for you. So choose from the 2 options |

bassdow:You missed the point. There are mosfets on the boards he was holding. You claimed he wasn't holding mosfets, but right on the boards he held are several mosfets. And there is nothing wrong with replacing these boards instead of wasting valuable time and money chasing individual components on the board. In fact, modern circuit designs are made modular for easy repairability. You may like the hard way, chasing resistors and capacitors around on a board, but many electronics are now better repaired by simply replacing boards. It is the modern way and creates opportunity for quick turn around and reduced downtime. While you are soldering up and down, doing trial and error with capacitors, a card would have been replaced and the client will be back in business. |

adrusa:Never had issues with what He claims doing BUT why call a circuit board a MOSFET. How would you feel when I call a plate of Beans + RICE + Meat + Fish + Eggs + 2pcs of Plantain unRipe Plantain just because it contains 2 or 3 pcs of plantain inside it. That plate of "Beans + RICE + Meat + Fish + Eggs + 2pcs of Plantain" might cost ₦1,500 whereas the 2pcs of plantain costs only ₦20 . If I no come like the plantain, maybe cause it tastes bad, no be to replace the PLANTAIN alone, rather than the entire plate of food . e be like say you get strength and time to argue ba ? |

adrusa:imagine changing a while board for 100k, when u can just detect the wrong capacitor/resistor and change for less than 5k. Nigerian technicians are lazy. Change panel, change board, whereas na one small component inside the board them suppose change. That's wasteful. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 12:00pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
kristien4:Most tech can keep your inverter for weeks "troubleshooting". If I see the option of swapping out that board I'll take it. We have a lot of inexperienced people claiming to be repair tech who do "trial and error" with your inverter. This same thing is applicable to phone and laptop/PC repair people. I watch one dude that repairs phone on YouTube and I just know 80%, or more, of our repair technicians are just simply amateurs who has no idea on how a phone works. Because this dude can change super tiny components (IC) and have got crazy tools to detect faults and have crazy knowledge of how the phone motherboard works. Tools I'm sure most of repair tech don't even know of their existence! |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 12:25pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
mctfopt:The issue with Nigerian technicians (auto mechanics, electrical/electronics, solar, IT) is that they never quite bother to learn HOW and WHY things work in certain ways. They effectively just learn a broad framework of how to fix specific faults, which, I suppose, is a reflection of the Nigerian educational system as a whole. |

The problem with this group, is problem of generalisation. One issue with one technician equal to issues with all other technicians. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Obnoxious2001(m): 1:17pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
dollarnaira:Aside from that, if you find a good repair technician, you will say it's too expensive, meanwhile people are more confident sending their appliances to the manufacturer. There are good repair centre for your mobile phones just make sure you dey wear jeans trousers |

Obnoxious2001:True. Someone fixed a 50" inch LED TV with just 50 naira capacitor. |

mctfopt:what most of our phone repairers have is Blower and soldering iron. Some no even get screw drivers of their own |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 1:32pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
dollarnaira:...but there are those who would charge close to 20% of the cost of said TV to change the entire board |

bassdow:That's the most they've got. Hot air gun and soldering iron with very little understanding how phone works. That's why small thing they'll tell you the "motherboard is bad and needs replacement". |

Good evening bosses. Please can I use just 3 units of 555W of Jinko panel to power my 3.5kva 24v system? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 8:42pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
josephos:You can. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by josephos: 8:59pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
HeavenlyBang:Thank you for your response. One more question please, between 6 units of 280W panels and 3 units of 555W panels which one will be more efficient? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 9:24pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
josephos:Only reason to take the 6 units of 280w is if you're using a high-voltage inverter and want to bolt them up in series to get a higher voltage. Otherwise, the 555w panels are probably built with newer technology and have better efficiency. Don't think there'd be a significant difference, though. |
