Well that's life in general and I'm not worried because it's a situation I have zero control.

But it's a decision with lots of consequences. Flick has his reason, may be Nee is yet to really convince him or not really ready.

If Inaki does well in the two games, he'll be vindicated, if he fails and we get beaten Flick will learn the hard way. There'll be no in between!

I'll maintain my stance that whatever goodies Hansi is reaping right now, it's a result of the work that Xavi put in. The first to try Raphina in the LW, the first to play him as a SS, little said about the promoting of La Masia kids and all. Hansi tweaked it to be better now doubt but nonetheless, Xavi walked so Hansi could fly.

I remember when alot of blind culers refused to blamed Xavi for our struggles last season, they were instead hating on our players, saying that they aren't good enough. Now a good coach has come in and made good use of the squad, it's all thanks Xavi laying the foundation. LMAO

We respect Xavi for what he has done at the club but I don't agree with this "Xavi walked so Flick could run" narrative. I don't buy it.

We can as well say, Koeman had a big impact in Xavi's performance. Xavi's supposed La Masia exploits is even sketchier compared to Koeman.

Cos Koeman was the first to give Balde, Gavi, Pedri and Araujo a start and regular play time. Not Xavi.
It's only Balde I might say cos of Xavi, but that was because Balde had long term injury the season ge was supposed to break through under Koeman. Koeman had way more La Masia products sef compared to Xavi. Have we forgotten Ilaix Moriba, Rique Puig, Oscar Mingueza (that was at one point ahead of Araujo) ?

So all these Xavi praise, I no buy am. Each manager should be given their flowers for their work and not appropriated to anyone else.
Cos Xavi with this same team last season was playing, nonsensical, aimless and painful football. Man was always telling us we no reach European level whereas he's the incompetent one.
Let's not overhype Xavi cos of the love we have for him in our Champions League glory era.

I agree that each coach should be judged according to what they were able to achieve.

Yes I staunchly supported Xavi while he was the coach but I can see that our players are now competing with more conviction and there is a defined approach to how they tend to play.

Also the players look to be much fitter than I have ever seen Barcelona players be. Opponent coaches now confess how our team tend to suffocate them with our ultra aggressive off-the- ball pressure and the sheer number of players we tend to commit to attack.

We're also scoring alot of goals. Even during Xavi's league winning season, we won alot of games by the odd goal. Lots of laboured, hard-fought victory.

Though they got us 3 pionts but such performances were largely unsustainable. And last season, we got found out. Xavi ran out of ideas. And the team ran out of luck.

I only hope this can be sustained longterm.

You can praise him for his work, not saying work that somebody is enjoying now is cos of so so person. Club football especially in Barcelona has always been a continuum.

Xavi fans are unable to use "he wasn't supported with funds".... "he didn't get the players he asked for". That excuse no work cos receipts and facts have been brought to squash them.

If Xavi was in Flick's shoe now e sure me die say Romeu and Roberto are definitely going to play in that DM role and Casado and Bernal would be ignored. Casado that fans have been talking about for two years plus now...I'm always hearing of how good he is on Barca Twitter but I thought na hype jare....not until I saw what he's made of this season.
I largely believe just like news portal said it was because of Flick's belief in those kids that's why Barca didn't go for a DM this summer. I'm sure we would have found one if we wanted even if it's a loan for the short term. I mean we found €60mn for Olmo despite being broke and no way of signing him. Barca would have still found a way if Flick asked.

Xavi had these gems at his disposal but never used them. No single minutes at all sef.
Look at Rique Puig that Xavi was hyping and talking good about during his time in Qatar. He came to Barca, wasn't Puig one of the first players he shipped out. Look at Pablo Torre — he loaned him out. Is it Ansu Fati? We all know the answer.
Who remembers Ez Abde that was blistering and had mad dribbling capabilities, even flashier than Yamal now and mad pace. Xavi dropped him and never developed that kid.

Pau Victor was scoring goal for fun last season. Xavi use am? Guess who brought him to the team. Marc Guiu that Xavi actually found, did he use him despite performing well every time he came on. Even when it was obvious Lewandowski was going to kill us with his performance last season.

Xavi doesn't really believe in youth. And I can back it up and stand my ground. It's only of we want to pretend and twist facts that's when we'll say Xavi likes La Masia.

Isn't it a disgrace that someone that has never played or been at Barca before — Hansi Flick; is the one who trusts La Masia more than the person who was actually a product of this famed institution??

If not for being no choice and these kids Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal being generational talents in their own rights, there's no way they would have broken into a conventional Xavi side.
We'd have seen the likes of Roberto and there would be no Lamine if Dembele was still here.

Imagine stupid players like Gerrard Martin and Sergi Dominguez starting in Barca early in the season. Xavi can never do that, I can bet my left ball on it. Xavi will never take that risk. That tells you the blind trust Hansi Flick has for his kids.

Koeman is a better youth believer and developer than Xavi and used way more La Masia players than Xavi sef. Almost all key La Masia or foreign Youth players that are prominent in Xavi's time were from Koeman except Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal.

So who exactly can we ask did Xavi really brought up. Asides Yamal whom I think would have still shone anyway??

The one I find most annoying these days is some fans saying Xavi kick started Raphinha great performances last season by using him in the "10" or "free role". I ask is it this same lame and annoying Raphinha that can't string two passes well before giving opponents the ball?

Raphinha no matter how fans pick on him (I really didn't like him at all and always stated it) he always had good stats since being with Barca.
He would always provide that winning goal or assists or be amongst the important people who helped us win points despite still playing shitty football.
It was just this season Raphinha started playing really well asides of having good stats. Now he wins man of the match. You could see he's enjoying himself. He makes darn good passes...makes intelligent runs and really disturbs the opposition defence. That was absent last season despite good stats. Raphinha even dribbles this season.... Something he was heavily vilified for last season.
