Christaks: damkanlinsin:Thanks for sharing your experiences and transcript guys. It really takes a lot of inner strength. There's nothing to be shameful about, most people usually bag refusal at one time or the other before finally getting it. Just identify areas of improvement and try again. Most especially how to convince the system and the VO that you have strong home ties that cannot be abandoned. Work/business, family, religious, social, etc. And the travel itinerary must also make sense and follow a consistent pattern with previous travels. Also, if you are financially stable, you can try an Euro trip before applying again to boost your travel history. |

I see. Based on my experience and your transcript, it looks like the issue was with the DS-160 form. You mentioned Brooklyn instead of Florida, which is probably why the Visa Officer stopped and asked you again. damkanlinsin: |
| Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Gd0007(m): 1:25pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
From this transcript, it appears that you just returned from a two-week vacation in the UK and are now planning another two-week vacation in the USA within the same year. It seems like you might not have a stable job, as most offices wouldn’t allow two extended leaves within such a short time frame. Christaks: |

dexydidi:The point is that most experienced members of this thread renewed their visas before this new platform came up. One cannot give guidance on what he/she hasn't experienced. So please don't generalise like this, it is wrong. |

Mamabella:Oh, it seems that's probably what they were doing last night when the site went down for a bit. Also print out your documents in pdf so you have a copy in case it happens again. Knowing these people, expect anything. Also while I'm here, does anyone know if after you go in for a physical interview and get it approved, do you need to schedule an OIS appointment to pick up your passport in say Port Harcourt, or you simply walk in when it has been delivered and pay the fee? |

J3nifer:Well, from experience, my niece was refused her IW and was asked to come for her biometrics. She was given a period to come in and that was all she did when she went to the embassy with her mum, Note- she just clocked 14 so if that's not your case, you need to post what was actually written on the paper you found in your passport. so we can have clarity and assist appropriately. Also check your mailbox to be sure you didn't receive a mail inviting you to come in. Cheers. |
| Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by J3nifer: 10:35pm On Oct 19, 2024 |
I was refused and mine said “please schedule a follow up appointment under the 221g category which applies to your visa category and application type (regular or interview waiver) at the visa appointment website. Bring this form and your passport to be processed expeditiously.” There’s also nothing in my mailbox. I’ve been checking everyday since I was refused. I did schedule an appointment for November though. I’m an adult. But the previous visa I did wasn’t in Nigeria so could that be the reason? phoyeks: |

Hello everyone, Please can anyone help me out..? I am having issue with my appointment booking since couple months now... some good people have tried to help on here by explaining what should be done on that regard... My visa fee was paid with my GTB and for that reason i have made a complain which after like 10days, someone replied to the the ticket by saying; "Thank you for contacting the U.S. Visa and American Citizens Support Service. We understand that you're unable to register your payment to schedule an appointment. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for sending your payment receipt. Your issue has been escalated to our support desk for further assistance. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope you find this information useful. Please visit www.usvisaappt.com for further details. Best Regards, U.S. Visa and American Citizens Support Service" And since then my ticket has been on hold for reasons unknown to me.... | Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Nellyjo: 6:23pm On Oct 20, 2024 |
I see. What I meant was, did you need a new DS-160 because you hadn’t accessed the old one in the last 30 days and had to fill out a new form, or because you wanted to make changes after submitting the one you used to book the appointment? In my case, I started a DS-160 and booked the appointment with it, but I didn’t submit it, and since I hadn’t accessed it within the last 30 days, it got canceled. Now, I don’t even have access to the DS-160 I used for the appointment. Was that your situation as well? damkanlinsin: |
| Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by phoyeks: 7:01pm On Oct 20, 2024 |
J3nifer:Hello J3nifer, Since your passport was returned and you were instructed to come with your passport and an instruction included, you can schedule an appointment on the AVITS / Visa appointment website as also instructed. If in doubt or you are not able to do that successfully, you can try to chat or call the AVITS onsite agent to make inquiries. Yes, the location where you had your previous visa could be the reason as they may not have your biometrics as suspected but in any case be prepared for an interview. You were refused ,not denied so you have a shot at getting your visa renewed. Is this a B1/B2 renewal? Cheers and God bless you. |

She must dress the part and look wealthy, 99% of the time, account statements are not asked for because they dont usually believe the documents applicants bring along. Her reason of visit is to witness and see her grandkid, which is a strong reason for visit and not usually denied except in some cases. Pls check Argo videos on Youtube to see how to answer questions for B1/B2 visas and use them to prepare her. All the best. Cheers and God bless y'all and your "Atinuke"(unborn baby). ![]() |

From @uchmanfc Hello blessed people, I don't know who this post may help but i will put it out here anyway. I applied for a renewal of my B1/B2 visa in April/May and got Nov. 5th this 2024 as my dropbox date. In July, I was rescheduled for Aug !st. I informed my hubby of the change in date and encouraged him to send in his for a renewal. Amazingly, he paid and got a date for the following week-19th July. So he travelled to Lagos to drop his application at DHL. The following week, with his visa issued, his passport was ready for pickup at DHL PH. I travelled to submit mine on the scheduled date but was rescheduled to the 5th in the wee hours of the 1st of August due to #Endbadgovernance# protest. I finally submitted on the 5th and prayed my passport to be returned with my visa before the commencement of their structural change. My dashboard indicated my passport had been received and till the next month, it was stuck at that status. Finally, I checked on the 10th of Sept and the status read 'REFUSED!". Confused, I just smiled and prayed that it wasn't my portion. Undaunted, I started to search on Youtube the meaning of a refused status and eventually saw it wasn't a final verdict. I read a lot on how to answer questions relating to my case. Meanwhile, I wasn't told anything as to where to pick up my passport nor my offence. I just kept praying and thanking God that the verdict would be upturned in my favor. i didnt even call the embassy in panic. Finally, i received an email (not spam) to appear on the 9th of Oct. @ 7am. Phew! I was excited that at last, i had a chance to speak or defend my case without paying another fee.. i got there and saw we were quite a number that had a refused status. Our passports were first returned to us on the queue and once received, you went back to the interview line. There was a guy infront of me who had dropboxed with his wife since late June, his wife got hers but he was also present. We were drilled like new applicants. I was asked what i was travelling for and why i had stayed up to 4months in my last trip. I explained why I had stayed longer than usual and after studying my DS160, and seeing no other inconsistency in my information, my visa renewal was approved that Wednesday. By Friday, I just used the link on OIS site to check for my passport and it was ready for pickup, without any registration in Lagos( DHL PH was my initial return address). SUMMARY:; BE CONFIDENT AND KNOW THEY CAN DECODE YOUR FEAR. THEY CAN ONLY SAY"NO", THEY CAN'T KILL YOUR DREAM. ALSO, BE DILIGENT ,STUDY AND DO YOUR RESEARCH ON WHAT TO SAY AND RED FLAGS. VETO ALL THE INFO SUPPLIED HERE(on this thread) BECAUSE SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOUR SITUATION. WISH Y'ALL THE BEST IN YOUR ASPIRATIONS... TOH! Thank God it ended in testimonies, yours shall receive favor in Jesus' name. J3nifer: |
