Anyone that doesn't support the order of Nigeria is always IPOB!

Have sense! Old Age is not an evidence of peace and salvation. Today his Central region has become a slaughter house in Nigeria. His children and children's children will be victim of that bloodshed for generations to come.

Gowon is irredeemable.
The problem is that Nigeria celebrate the wrong people all over its history and expect to make progress.

Ode!
ipod terrorist, use your God given brain. He's not suffering in any sense. You think his children are among those suffering in the North, you have to be more gullible than previously certified. He and his descendants are enjoying life and are better welcome and recognized all over the world than the most successful living thing in your lineage. Miserable myrmidon.

Just as expected, helplessly spewing thrash as always. No need wasting time with you as you're very hopeless and so is your situation. Don't worry, you and your children unborn will serve his children and children's unborn since you have a use.less and bigoted brain 🧠

General Yakubu Gowon returns from exile (1983)

During his independence broadcast in 1974, General Yakubu Gowon said that the planned return to civilian rule in 1976 was no longer feasible. This annoyed some military officers who were tired of military rule.

The military officers, most of whom fought in the Civil War, felt that military rule was not good for the Armed Forces. They felt that it was dividing the Army (already there had been talk about who should get government positions, those that actually fought in the war or those that didn't). These soldiers felt that Gowon was enjoying government position too much and they felt that they needed to remove him, so that the Army could go back to the barracks.

These soldiers were led by Shehu Musa Yar'Adua, Joseph Nanven Garba and Abdullahi Mohammed. However, they decided that they did not want to rule, rather they would hand over power to Murtala Muhammed, Olusegun Obasanjo and Theophilus Danjuma.

Gowon was overthrown on July 29th, 1975, exactly 9 years after he became head of state.

He was in Kampala, Uganda at the time that he was overthrown and although the new government said that he could return to Nigeria, he chose to go on exile in the UK.

Gowon had absolutely nothing when he went on exile. Presidents Eyadema and Idi Amin gave him a little bit of money for his upkeep.

Later on the military began to pay his pension

General Gowon enrolled for a political science course at a university in the UK and this alarmed the British Government. They felt that, as a former head of state, he should have informed them if he wanted to study and they would have arranged something for him. However, Gowon rejected their offer and chose to attend the university like any other undergraduate.

The Nigerian Government was also alarmed when pictures of Gowon carrying his own tray at the university canteen were published by newspapers. They said that Gowon was a former head of state and he didn't need to embarrass Nigeria in that way. They sent officials to the UK to try to talk him out of it, but it didn't work. Gowon wanted to be like any other student.

Then, on Friday, February 13th, 1976, Gowon's successor, General Murtala Muhammed, was killed in a coup. The Nigerian Government accused Gowon of being involved in the coup. They privately asked the British Government to extradite him, but the British refused.

Then the Nigerian Government stopped paying his pension and retroactively dismissed him from the army. Nigerians in the UK organised a fund raising campaign to raise funds for his upkeep.

General Gowon got his first degree, masters and doctorate degree in political science from universities in the UK.

President Shehu Shagari issued state pardons to Emeka Ojukwu and Yakubu Gowon and urged them to return to Nigeria. They both came back in March 1983.

This is a video of Gowon's return to Nigeria.

Sometime in the next nineteen years, the grim reaper will come for his property. Jimmy Carter is a husk waiting to take his final breath. Any person past eighty-eight years old is a burden to the living.

[quote author=Kokomaster69 post=132497603]Why should I wish HBD to someone who contributed to the decay of Nigeria ? Till date , he has not cleared his name of what he was accused of by British MP. Nigerians should learn to read about our history before singing praises of the so-called leaders

So Gowon was once in exile
