Sizing your solar system and energy efficient equipment is the key. I use my gen in a very very bad weather conditions, around that August. Before I switched to LifePo4, about a year ago, I use an average of 20litrs or less in a year to run my gen. But this year, I have not use 1litr of fuel, desipte the bad weather conditions from July to September.

But always keep your gen handy.

Solar power is one out of the many other renewable sources of power. There is biogas for gas turbines, wind turbines for wind, even tidal wave generators that use the difference in tide levels to drive a generator. It just depends on how serious the government is to reduce or eliminate reliance on fossil fuels.

For the past 7 years, I don't own a gen. Out of 7 years I stayed two years without NEPA (Naija is not a real place. NEPA downtime due to bad transformer, many packed out of the area). Zero personal power downtime in all these events. In bad weather I just drop high loads and life continues. As a backup/solo use, RE is king.

Felicity IVPS inverter does not have a solar charge controller. Your 60A Felicity charge controller has a maximum PV VOC of 145V

Very apt. Between October and May, I'm okay. Average generation 20kwhr/day.
June-Sept I use mains to suppliment. Some days I get below 4kwhr.

i can tell you for free ,if five million electric cars in the US try to fast charge at up to 300KW per car ,the US electrical grid will get partial stroke ....the 2030 that Europe set for net zero and banning of ICE cars is touted to be postponed to 2035....they don't need to rush or force it.

Actual cost will vary, but atleast hold like 1.5-2.5m for something robust. If you decide to go the DIY route, it may be cheaper for you, but more risky.

Abeg u fit send the link. I av a 50in TV that's bin abandoned for over 2 mths. Repair guy says it's the screen but I'm sure its not as i just changed it 2yrs ago and symptoms are different.

Why not take it to someone else to get their own opinion ?

Just take it elsewhere and say nothing other than it's not working. Let them be the one to check and respond to you

Only reason to take the 6 units of 280w is if you're using a high-voltage inverter and want to bolt them up in series to get a higher voltage. Otherwise, the 555w panels are probably built with newer technology and have better efficiency. Don't think there'd be a significant difference, though.

One reason I smile when I see installers using 200watts panel. Most times it's for ease of movement BUT then, it's not in interest of the client.
