The igbo nation through their spokesman Mr. Peter Obi, in a twitter thread, has extended a hand of forgiveness and brotherhood to Gen Yakubu Gowon (a former head of stat3 of Nigeria). This came on the anniversary of Gen Gowon's 90th birthday celebration.

Mr Pete Obi spokesman for the igbo nation extolled Gen Gowon's pursuit of love, peace and unity in Nigeria at a critical time in Nigeria's history when forces of hate spught to decimate the stability of the nation(civil war?). In addition Mr. Obi praised Gen Gowon's exemplary uncommon wisdom and leadership in the face of extreme difficulty and uncertainty.

Igbo nation has no issues with Gowon, he was simply a puppet of British imperialists and Fulani scheme to dominate Nigeria.
To the Igbos it doesn't make sense being angry at the puppet instead of the puppeteer.

I have never seen any prominent Igbo including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu call Gowon an enemy of Igbos, the even feel that Awolowo who proposed using starvation as a weapon of war against Biafra and £20 pounds policy as an economic subjugation tool to Gowon as the enemy and not Gowon
