While they do that, they should also subsidise solar panels and batteries with their gadgets for some time before the plant comes to live. Nigerians are not interested in this grammar.
LOL, this is how Nigerians destroy themselves.
Once you hear anything about SUBSIDY for solar systems, know that sector is DEAD.

Subsidy ALWAYS produces scarcity, low quality, corruption and high prices. ALWAYS. Federal University, railways, Forex, NIPOST and NTA are all subsidized. Time to learn the lesson.

Good Luck to Nigeria

Why not invest the funds nd energy in the power sector thereby reducing the demand for solar
Thats has failed for six decades.

You are moving in the right direction by using solar to generate power at home in 21st century?

Like leaders, like the followers. One would be wondering why Nigeria and other black countries are not moving with the rest of the world.
He i right. Solar generally whether at home or grid levwl is good idea.
What i wont advocate for is household use because of weak security system. I prefer grid level were is it a little bit centralized and safer. Though tht will open it up to mismanagement fossilfuel and hydro plants have endured.
Solar at business level is the ultimate way out. It can charge Tricycles, bikes, carts, power hair saloon, barbershop, electrician workshop, schools, business centres, food outlets etc.
Think of it, those aforementioned places operate in daytime when sun is always available. Thats when they also burn petrol the most.

It is a good idea threatened by the urge of capitalist leaders to become rent seeker.

Power does ot require any huge investment. Dangote has thousands of megawatt as part o his industries and no unusuall amount of money was spent gor it.

“We have already unveiled a national energy master plan to address the country’s energy challenges and ensure that all Nigerians have access to power supply.

“We will establish a plant that produces solar panels and batteries for Nigerians to have access to affordable solar power. I am assuring Nigerians that we will achieve this by next year.”

When I read some of the items/industries Nigerians want to be subsidised, I am shocked. Something is wrong with the quality of education most of us obtain. Why would someone advocate subsidy for solar panels or DSTV?

Solar power supply systems operations in Nigeria should have being in existence in the country for a long time before now, what is worth doing at all is worth doing well at the right time. See the other major electrical power Producing in the world with the usage of Solar power supply systems in their countries, aside governmental operations individuals too should go into private solar building systems operations.
