P.S. The average banker out-earns his medical counterpart, especially when the years of training are factored in. I am willing to bet the bonuses of bankers would match the salaries of doctors. The only positive economic benefit about medicine is job security till old age. Nothing else. If na money, doctors are not amongst the top three highest-paid professionals in any part of the developed world. Quant/finance, tech and law professionals are the top three. Most importantly, they spend fewer years in school than doctors.

You should read the points where most outlined how bankers out-earn doctors. Plastic doctors were the exception. Moreover, that is just banking whereas I also mentioned quant specialists. How many US doctors get paid $250K as an intern? If you say doctors earn lowly during housemanship before commencing their careers, remember that they spent more than half a decade learning it. Mathematicians spend only four years. It is no surprise that even in Nigeria, the most brilliant folks (judging from WASSCE and UTME scores) aren't interested in medicine as a career path. E no dey pay.
