Please Nairalanders, which of these sales roles is more financially rewarding? Which one should I accept?

1. Territory manager (Guinness Nigeria)
2. Relationship Manager ET (FBN)

NB: I'm only considering the take home.
Go for Territory manager Job. Filed job has prospect and growth in Nigeria

U may erroneously see Dangote as a Monopolistic biz man, But NO. This man is an astute biz man trying to save Nigeria from the mess of oil barons that that over the decades plunder Nigeria into deep financial mess using oil importation as the tool since the military era.
They crippled NNPC refineries so that they can continue the importation for their own benefits, which is where Subsidy comes from. They created the Subsidy.
(This is why any sensible person will understand why Tinubu radically removed the Subsidy and why the North is now fighting Tinubu. The crook leaders of the Subsidy are Northerners, led by the retired generals)

I did my NYSC at PPMC/NNPC and within 1 year of my service, what I witnessed by myself is a colossal tsunamic corrupt system that only God can bring Nigeria out from.

Govt corruption is just child's play when compared with what oil companies/multinationals/oil marketers commit.
They control the market and since oil is Nigeria's main source of income (The oil sector provides for 95% of Nigeria's foreign exchange earnings and 80% of its budgetary revenues.) they have a choking hold on the country

If Dangote refinery succeeds in all its plans, Nigeria will be free of the stranglehold of the marketers. And it will encourage other investors to also build refineries.

Imagine selling NNPC refineries to investors who will fix them and upgrade them, making Nigeria free from importing oil and gas and rather becoming exporter. NIGERIA WILL BE SO GREAT and RICH
What you just said is like from fry pan to fire.
So they should free Nigeria from a group of cartels only to make one man the sole cartel abi?
If dangote succeeds and becomes the only refinery selling petroleum products
Do you think the dangote you and I know will ever allow another investor to come in that sector and succeed?
Your guess is as good as mine.
The NNPCL should as a matter of urgency auction the port Harcourt and kaduna refinery so that there will be competition in that sector
Only that can lower the price, but if they leave it to only one man
We will always be at his beck and calling

Dangote is a foolish and selfish man.
Godfullsam:
This man should swallow his greed and reduced to price of his PMS below the imported price.

Fuel importation will die a natural death quickly instead of going to court to stop marketers from importing cheaper products.

I don't even think any court has the right to tell marketers where and how to source for PMS.

We should thank God dangote doesn't own a telecommution company like glo.

By now, may be we would be charged 150/minutes on every call we make

I'm sorry your personal testimony is not enough for some people to stop calling Dangote the devil.

May God give us a leader that fear him

You have 2 very good job offers there.

FBN is a relively good Nigerian banking environment. A relationship manager is a marketing role.

Guiness TM role is also a very good place to build a career.

Both are extremely close in career growth, company longetivity prospects.

Banking remuneration may be a little above the FMCG's.

I advise that you should clearly pray to God to lead you. He knows the best.

* I dont think you will regret choosing any of the two.

They are not making one man monopoly. They are encouraging others to think building refineries. Thats the only solution to our problems

We have the crude oil. Why should we sell our crude oil and buy it back as refined.? Not like we dont have capacity to refine.
Dangote cannot stop anyone from building refinery.

How can Dangote stop investors from succeeding?? How??

All problems are solved one step at a time.

Step 1
Problem: We have a Forex and fuel scarcity problem
Solution: We empower Dangote's refinery

Step 2
Problem: The refinery becomes the only functional refinery making it a monopoly
Solution: We empower other refinery and investors to compete. ( E.g Telecommunication)

As we continue to climb up the steps, we will continue to encounter problems.

Just because we foresee a future problem doesn't mean we should ignore the current solution.

Ignorance kwa.
Guy are you being mischievous or hilarious??

A regulator that's also a mega player in the same field it regulates ??

Oga no vex but what's your definition of conflict of interest ?

By the way how well are they even regulating ? Don't even let me get started on that, mai over vex this rainy morning

Oga look into the mirror very well before you talk about another man ignorance

stuffs2002:
Stop exposing your ignorance on a public forum because how exactly do you want to scrap the regulator of an oil industry?

NNPCL are both regulators and producers and I agree with you that they are very corrupt. You can only stop their production aspect but not the regulator aspect.

nnpc na him great competition that must be comatosed grin grin

KingRabota:
Yeah extremely strategic in corruption and incompetence. NNPC is jumping jangilova all over dangote refinery is the same NNPC that has 4 refinerys , 4 depots a petrochemical plant and numerous other facilities such a national pipeline netwok , but isn't producing a drop of product even though all it's facilities undergo TAM every other year and oh I almost forgot all these facilities have staff who on a different paygrade , medical access and social amenities from almost everyone else in the country .

NNPC is an Incompetent and useless organisation that should be scrapped and 90% of its staff dismissed with immediate effect
