Iampromoted:What is Nigerians' daily fuel consumption? Dangote requires local competition; NNPCL should sell the three refineries to a competitive organisation that can give Dangote some real competition. The real problem is the Nigeria government and NNPCL. BTW the list below is linked to cabals NNPCL, |

johnayo01:Dangote filed a case to compel the regulators to withdraw licenses for importation meaning they should all buy from him. One of his reasons is that he has unsold stocks as a result of non patronage........ His argument is against all known business practice ...government should force other players to patronise him ,for what and to what end ... NNPC came to patronise him , and resell at discount to third parties , Nigerians ,ever ignorant yet coach and masters on every topic under the heavens , wailed and asked that marketers be allowed to buy directly ...now they have gone to do so and discovered that importing was more profitable than buying from him The import has glutted the markets and forced down prices at the depots At a particular location , the opening price was 1120 but later dropped that same morning to 1118.....another location is selling at 1111 and by today it is a given that it will continue to come down and meet at 1000k with the vessels waiting to discharge and you don't want to incur demurrage in dollars Then it is not the duty of the government to bring in another refinery ...the market is already liberalised and BUA is constructing a gigantic refinery in Akwa Ibom. Dangote not meeting it own set target of 25m litres production lends credence to government officials declaration that the refinery is not yet complete ..no other reasons is logical ...he has the crude from both NNPC and imports so what other issues can It be and yet he wants us to wait and tolerate price manipulation for as long as it takes to get his refinery to optimal operating level or Bua comes on stream ....that won't happen This is the same way he ran Ibeto out of cement that import was glutting the markets..went to court that Ibeto import waivers was harmful ...bla bla ..ObJ succumbed .today see where his near monopoly has landed us in the building sectors |

sulaak:What is cabal about not buying from Dangote It would have made sense if there was subsidy for the guys you labeled cabals but the reality is that there is non and they are business men with profits motives not served by lining behind Dangote .....these guys wants products in their facilities , their depots ,not stations . Not trucks being batched and sent to go and load at Dangote refinery gantry ...they have their own and jobs and staffs to maintain ....sending trucks to Dangote is hurtful to even the Nigerian economy. There is no subsidy anymore but if you buy from NNPC ,they sell to you at discounted price .. Why? Because there are other products from whence they makes killings to augment the shortfall from pms which is a security product for the nations ....many other businesses of NNPC ensure they can discount the price to keep the nations running but asking private company to buy same from Dangote they will sell to make profit and this means t higher prices since that is their only business .... this is what those shouting about NNPC been sole buyer from him didn't understand |

flokii:Some of you are so ruthless in your evil against Dangote, Look at you describing perfectly how NNPC can destroy the only functional refinery in Nigeria just because of spite. Killing of business is not a way to fight the monopolistic tendency of every business. And funny how you trust the same NNPC, who have 3-4 non-functioning refinery under them to help you finish of the only functional refinery we have. This is a "media war" or better still "war of narrative" choose your side carefully. The reason we all (including myself) don't like Dangote, is because of the selective favouritism he has enjoyed over the years by previous government. So if you want to fight for the people against him, then reverse the favouritism and let other businesses enjoy the same privilege as well, we still need those companies you know |

sulaak:Nigeria's daily PMS consumption is about 50m liters. The capacity of Dangote Refinery is 25m liters per day. So how can Dangote Refinery alone meet the petrol needs of Nigerians? It will only lead to scarcity of petrol and increased fuel price. |

sulaak:If I had doubts whether you were dumb and discussing matters beyond your IQ before, now you have proven it. You are a thief and a senseless one at that. Anyone with a brain even as small as a peanut (which is obviously bigger than yours) will realise that taxes, customs/excise & loads of other factors determine individual pricing of petroleum products across jurisdictions. For example, the USA can afford to supply its own populace with even lower-priced gasoline but it taxes it, on the average, 12-18%, hence the effect on the pump price. Minus about 6% total levies on Dangote Refinery, which other taxes impact his production cost? Whoever paid you for this failed attempt at whitewashing the fast diminishing image of Dangote Refinery Limited, may it not be well with you and them! Nigerians have seen through the mask and are all now rightly asking questions. Many weeks back, most of us were demanding the sack of the MD of NMDPRA. We were calling on Tinubu to sanction the NNPC. However, the NNPC pulling out of the fuel-lifting arrangement was a masterstroke. They stopped being the whipping boys and allowed us to see the vipers in DRL for what they are. They are manipulative monopolists who want to ruthlessly manipulate the process for maximum gains, at the expense of the same Nigerians they claim their refinery is set up to bring cheaper & more accessible petroleum products to. Las las, your bosses in DRL will drink their refined products themselves, if they don’t consider the error of their ways. They are are set up to make profit & anyone understands that but to want to make back the $20b investment in one year, not minding whose ox is gored, they have chosen the wrong country to exploit. Shame on you, you paid Public Relations idiot. You are a thief and nothing better than a thief, who’ll do any evil job to make money! |

ivandrag0n:If there is anything that I have learned in this world, it is that never debate with a frustrated and ignorant man. I appreciate the pressure you are facing as a Nigerian living in a dysfunctional Nigeria system. Let me advise you that Nigerians are not equipped to operate in this modern world. When faced with the opportunities to succeed, they always play the victim, choosing failure. If you think that a man who has invested in developing Nigeria's industrial infrastructures is the problem in Nigeria's oil industry, then it is evident that you have no IQ. NNPC went private as NNPCL with the same government officials that witnessed the collapse of Nigeria's crude oil exports from 1.9 million barrels to less than 900 000 B/D under Buhari. The same NNPC releases an annual account with all departments operating at a loss. What organisation has control of the 7th largest oil and gas deposits in the world and still operates on debt and not profit? I leave you with the brilliant Tilewa Adebajo :I Will Arrange $35bn For Nigeria If NNPC Is Reformed - Tilewa Adebajo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNhDgadFd-M&t=709s |

johnayo01:Nigeria needs more Dangotes who benefit from government favouritism. Dangote got $5.2 billion in loans from Nigerian banks and access to cheap dollars from the CBN to finance his refinery. The Nigerian government should extend these opportunities to other industrialists. |

Dangote got $5.2 billion in loans from Nigerian banks and access to cheap dollars from the CBN to finance his refinery. This is my main problem with Dangote. Shebi we would have been consoled by the fact he is creating employment if he indeed has. Man has simply created a doorway for Indians to make money off Nigeria. His business hasn't benefited us in any way other than the inevitable taxes he pay. flokii: |

| Re: Dangote Refinery Asks Court To Void Import Licenses Of NNPCL, Matrix, 4 Others by johnayo01: 1:25pm On Oct 22, 2024 |
Topsido:This is what they government should be tackling, not fighting the whole of the company. And it's even a simple case, there is a certain quota a company must hire from the host country, state, LGA. How is fighting the company benefiting the Nigerian people . OrWhat is the end game for this fight?? Topsido:VDM might be right anyway, many Nigerians are oppressive in nature. I wish you can tell me Dangote's fault in all this drama. |
| Re: Dangote Refinery Asks Court To Void Import Licenses Of NNPCL, Matrix, 4 Others by flokii: 1:28pm On Oct 22, 2024 |
johnayo01:While I agree that those in government have their faults too, let's face the fact that Dangote's own is too much. If you chop small, you relax.. not that you'll want to chop the whole Nigeria dry. There are sectors begging for intervention of FG such as the "pulp and paper" used to produce our notebooks, textbooks, jotters etc. Did you know that Nigeria imports over 98% of the pulp used to produce paper?. What we can produce comfortably here in Nigeria with trees and wood everywhere. These are some of the areas government can look into and leverage on to create jobs and employment for Nigerian youths. Just do the maths.. compare the population of Nigeria, the number of pupils and students that write on notebooks with the number of textbooks we buy in our bookstores.. then check the gain Nigeria can make from the pulp and paper sector. Our politicians are just doing anyhow, no concrete plans or interest in the country's development. Lastly, I wish Dangote well but will never support his business model of always wanting monopoly and to chase others out of the market. Such evil practice should have no place or enjoy support from well-meaning Nigerians. |

flokii:Imagine you build the biggest pulp and paper industry in the whole of Africa. Then one government start accusing you of monopoly and how we can't depend on you for paper production alone and the need to have more people import pulp and paper. Do you think, you won't make noise like how Dangote is doing today?? Dangote is a group of company, who look for opportunities just like any other businessman. (From the outline of things, I'm sure you will call out Dangote, if he is the only one willing to invest in pulp and paper) He has no power to stop others from investing as well, it is the work of the government to incentivise that industry to make sure other players comes in and stop the monopoly. (Unlike before where other government works with Dangote alone) I'm glad you said you don't have anything against the man Dangote, please let it stay that way. |

CodeTemplarr:Dangote cares neither about the State nor the People. If the Dangote Refinery pricing is competitive, off takers from him will sell at lower price than importers and importation would be discouraged. Dangote appears not to be a serious businessman but one uses to leveraging Government connections to enforce monopoly in his favour. |
