For her to be a maid obviously shows that the parents(most likely a single mother) allowed it out of hunger, poor education, risk of prostitution, risk of early marriage, bad environment and many others. The family she is helping is saving her from all these.

A small child cannot be employed!!! That’s definitely child Labour. Neither should one get relatives and call them house helps. The house helps I employ resume and close at the agreed time. From experience, treating them like family is a bad decision. They begin to think everyone has the same rights in the house. I don’t like live-ins! How dirty is a house that it will need to be cleaned everyday? While I will treat house helps well, I’ve learned to treat them as what they are: employees.
