Cos their names have been imprinted on my mind since I've seen them written at opening credits in the shows many times.
Although these ones I mentioned are the few ones who stood out for me. Not as if I remember everyone names and a Google search some years back refreshed my memory. And when I see written names, I can remember when and what shows those names appear in my mind.

But these names have stuck with me since childhood — Maite Perroni (as Mary Chui in Don't Mess With An Angel) and Mario Cimmaro (as Salvadore in Second Chance).

Some of these names, the more we talk about it these past 2 days the more I remember about them as I type my responses. So it's fun remembering this shit all these years. grin
Thank you

Scavengers Reign 9/10

Every now and then, we get a piece of art that you look at and marvel in wonder at how the creators were able to come up with such a concept and execute it. Scavengers Reign is one of such pieces of art.

Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner have my respect with what they've created here. A beautiful, terrifying and mesmerizing world.
I know a student or students of nature when I see one and these guys have definitely been studying for a while.

The world of Scavengers Reign is pretty much like what the Earth looked like before man tamed it. Some parts of it almost feel like you're watching an animated episode of Nat Geo Wild with how much care was taken in designing the terrain, as well as, the local flora and fauna.

But enough talk about the world building, the story is also gripping. It follows a group of survivors of a spaceship malfunction as they scavenge for a way to return to the ship and make it back home. These survivors are not all in one location and their individual journeys, innovative survival skill set and resilience are what make each of the characters interesting in their own right.

Two major themes of this show are survival and evolution. And we get to watch these themes take shape and play out with these characters.

The fact that a show like this didn't automatically grab the Emmy for animated show takes my anticipation of what Blue Eye Samurai has to offer to higher levels cos I'm really interested to see how it matches up to or tops what Scavengers Reign cooked.
I downloaded this a long time ago.

No matter how I tried, I couldn't get into it.

The animation style was a major turn off. I quit the show around Episode 3 or 4.

I think it's good for those who are interested in shows about exploration of a planet...

Not for people like me at all...

It's more of a very niche show that's why it wasn't popular

Galaxy TV came later though around 2007-2009 and theirs was in the morning.

AIT and MItv were the major stations broadcasting telenovas in the early 2000s... Passion on Sunday evening and Wednesday I think, this action movie with a catchy soundtrack, the plot was about a bodyguard hired to protect a lady who is always running into trouble.. When you are mine was even later in 2004-2007 if my memory serves me correctly then Second Chance followed suit.

NBC made a broadcast law dedicating the evening time slot to local content in the 2009-2010 period and that effectively ended the telenovas craze for that period.

Fun times grin grin
Ait was the pioneers of those telenovelas around 8pm everyday mon - Fri .. which later got shifted to 9-10 ..
.paloma and Diego

Catalina and Sebastian .

And one very popular one which I can't remember ..
.Galaxy took over .. na afternoon around 1pm and the repeat around 9 or so..

Na there I watch la patrona.

..

Mitv na some kind Brazilian series and South African show Dem dey always show for night .. they never really showed any telenovelas ..

But I never missed a midnight show of Monday night raw / smackdown on mitv ..

Damn I miss back in the days ...

Early momo stv would be feeding us small ville every Saturday then ..

Kai. I'm glad I grew up in Lagos ..
.All this shiit would've just been alien to me.

Lol, I remember being into these back then.

When You're Mine was actually the first to come out between those two main protagonists. Catalina and Sebastian came next.

I think I finished both. Both more or less remember Catalina & Sebastian more.

That was back in the days when Telenovelas and the Mexican industry had us in chokehold.
There was also Hidden Passion, Second Chance, The Storm, Rafaela, Teresa, Cursed By The Sea, Wild Heart etc.

They were top tier back in those days.
That second chance is the GOAT of al telenovelas back then .. It was the that dragged most viewers to telenovelas then .. It got to a stage, no one wants to miss an episode ..

Hahaha .. 😁😁

Although it all started with paloma and Diego. But that second chance was people's favorite.. I think there was a little bit of magical stuff in second chance. The lead actor died and came back to life, something like that .
Everything is all fuzzy in my head right nw ...

I'm surprised you saw La patrona..

I didn't think it ganered that much audience like it's counterpart .. but I friggin loved it ..

The penguin episode 5 is a solid 8/10 for me.
Can Oz really come out of this life alive? Lol
Man has 9 lives already, he keep surviving and surviving.
One of the things i love so much about this series, is not even the violence or thrill, the thing i love most is how they tell the backup story of each characters.
Two weeks ago, it was for vic, last week it was for Sofia and this week, we gat to know what happened to the brothers of Oz.

I really appreciate this about the series, now we gat to know that each and everyone of them had a traumatic past.

Now we wait and see where this battle of supremacy, to kill or be killed will end.

Nice premise and plot development.

3 episodes in, the show is looking good and someone should please put a leash on that Reverend Father FFS, what does he mean "only fans for the god fearing", he gonna give Mother Superior a heart attack grin grin

Ohhhhhh by the way, The Rings of Power is still hogwash! wink

grin grin Lol this show just tends to tell us that religion is just manmade, rules set up by the powerful to control and bring wealth.

You will see as you continue to watch.

On your last statement, lol.
You do know that the season 2 was cool though. cheesy

The Night Of.......10/10

A night of sex, drugs and alcohol ends up being a murder case.
What ensues is a harrowing court drama proving the guilt of the defendant Nasir Khan or his innocence.
It tells a harrowing tale of how being in the wrong place at the wrong time for even a minute changes someone's life forever.
Who is the killer? Who killed her? For what reason?

It also a deconstruction look into the brutal world of prison life and the realities and danger that comes with the system. The brutal survivalist world of it. Also has racial profiling as one of its strong themes in the American criminal justice system.

One thing the show does best is it confuses with it's twists and turns who committed the crime.
This is not your average Whodunnit story. This is a lot more complex than that and forces you to fully commit into knowing the man behind the knife. Did he do it? Or not? What motive? Over the course of the story you're casually given posible suspects with strong probability of committing the crime, but the show still finds a way to circle it back to the main suspect?

It's unpredictable cos what you think you know of some characters begins to get shrouded in more mystery the more you get answers about previous questions; various characters and various events leading towards the murder and after the murder.
Man, it's a head cracker. You're jumping from this modafvker definitely did it (he's a psychopath), to nah this other dude did (he's creepy AF), to obviously this other guy probably did it (he's a criminal), nope this one dude got good motive amongst everybody or you're back to prime suspect № 1— Naz, the calm looking college kid.

It's editing is top tier, adds the chills to the atmosphere and suspense, the way it takes detail shots, especially the prison yard — the prison bars, gates, the walls, prison cells.
You clearly are given the feel of what freedom and captivity looks like. What hope and hopelessness looks like.

This is easily amongst the top 5 best HBO Miniseries of all time I've watched.
Top tier dark and gritty psychological thriller with suspense right from the beginning till the last scene in the finale. You were always kept on the edge of your seat.
Knowing how gritty and dark it is when you get familiar to the shows world, you know anything can happen at any moment. It kept that suspense till the very end.

I remember this series. I didn't finish watching it though. Never got to find out who actually killed the girl.

Though I was amazed how prison changed that skinny little dude. He went from being skinny to one muscled up, hard motherfucker. Lol.

Supreme HBO drama.....Omo all the evidences was stacked up against Baba 😩.

It was this show i started noticing John Turturro, he absolutely killed it as the Lawyer.

This is easy recommed, if your are looking for gritty court drama.

See if HBO sets out to do a miniseries, be 90% assured it's gonna bang....This, I Know This Much Is True, Sharp Objects and Chernobyl are my favourite mini series from their stable in recent times ✌🏾
