The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Tuesday visited Ile-Ife to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

In a statement on Tuesday via x, Obi said, “Today, I travelled by road from Lagos to the ancient city of Ile-Ife to honour the 50th birthday ceremony invitation of the Ooni of Ife.”

As part of the celebrations, Obi also had the honour of commissioning the newly built Oduduwa House, which was donated by Sir Dr. Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole-Oodua of the Source.

Given Tinubu's abysmal performance, Peter Obi may not have to campaign hard for the 2027 elections. Wrong analysis IMO. Northerners will work aggressively to herd their people away from voting any southerner because they are desperate for a reeturn of power to the region after the shege BAT is showing them.

Precisely. His credentials as a petty and bigoted charlatan is now very solid because we all see he consistently fails to call Igbo Obidients to order and even tacitly side them insulting and deriding the icons of others like Soyinka etal.

Yorubas are sophisticated voters. It won't be lost on them that when it comes to the SE it is always "see no evil hear no evil" with Obi yet he will weep and gnash teeth over every development elsewhere. Big hint he will be ridiculously prejudiced at national level.

Obi was viewed as change from the "old boy" (Tinubu,Atiku, Kwankwaso Etal) in 2023 even though he is one of them in reality. His stock has since gone down because critical thinking voter see he is empty, partisan and petty. Imagine beefing Soyinka childishly showing Obi cannot maturely put pettiness aside. A Northerner will profit. Never Obi. What is obvious is that Northern Power brokers desperately want a return of power to the region. They will work through every leader, from Emir to Imams, to sensitize their people not to vote any Southerner meaning nothing for Obi. Yet Tinubu based on strong performance the average Northerner can feel, can still do well in the North.

For example, Northern student groups refused to join the recent protest citing Tinubu is the best President for them as he has made their uni education assured and worry-free with the loan scheme. Obvious those sort of policies will translate into votes for BAT and he still has time to do much more as opposed to "Yes Daddy" who is not in government and will suffer from the anti-Southern mood of Northern leaders come 2027.

Obi does not stand a chance in 2027 IMO.
