HydraFeeds:Let me not say southwest. I will rather say Lagos. Other regions will have functional seaports. This will lead to decline in the traffic at Lagos. Many companies with their operations in the niger-delta will most likely move their headquarters to the region or leave. The influx of people into lagos will greatly reduce. This will impact on internally generated revenue. I can go on and on. |

Elusive001:Oya give coherent and factual reason for your conclusion if you can because virtually all others who are intelligent, knowledgeable a d work with facts always will beg to disagree. My friend, read more and try to educate yourself with the thinking and writings of intellectual instead of just making ridiculous statement borne of sentiments and bias. Go and read the report below by Falalu Bello, a distinguished banker, written circa a OBj time about his thought on the SW and other regions of Nigeria. You can he ranks SW as first of all economies of Nigeria using precise figures and consideration most Nigerians are ignorant of when they open mouth to talk sentimentally and ignorantly. He concluded the SW, if one her own, will be one of the fastest growing economies in the world back then. Let alone today when the SW has moved far above others by light years and is universally accepted to be the best region of Nigeria today by far. It is one Nigeria holding the SW back and most honest people will accept that. https://www.gamji.com/article6000/NEWS7879.htm South West Economy |

Elusive001:People is business truly but before Nigeria amalgamation, people have been exporting from Lagos and warlords from different places attempted to reach Lagos and take over . There are currently functioning port in PH which is capable of serving SS and SE but there's a reason people prefer Lagos ports ? London will not stop being London if UK breakdown the same way Lagos will not stop being Lagos ,the same way Seoul didn't stop being Seoul because North and South Korea are not one . And if you talk about the entire SW ,I will tell you that SW has the greatest history in Nigeria and have singlehandedly built 2 empires before Lagos which were Ife empire and Oyo empire. |

Elusive001:Most of the funds derived from these ports are distributed all over the country . If one FG go ,another FG (in case of seccession) will be the one handling it . Nigeria amalgamation halted the Yoruba race progress . We also saw what our forefathers did during regionalism before regionalism was established. |

Realtruth2023:I don't agree with the insults but I think OBJ should be circumspect with his talk. He says some really arrogantly insensitive things that shows a jarring disconnection with reality. He has lived his life. Let him graciously leave matters to those of us who feel the pulse of Nigeria and therefore understand the solutions she truly needs. For example, no reform of the NPF can make it the solution to our security problem in so far as how tribalism and ethnic bias has severely compromised the efficacy of the Nigerian police force. Meanwhile the SW will be safe and secure in six months only if she had regional policing because of how progressive and forward looking the Yorubas are. Yet OBJ will never support thins so he can continue to please his 'one Nigeria' pals. Take Amotekun that is the only one of it's kind today in terms of professionalism, structure and efficacy whereas the equivalent Igbos rushed to copy the Yorubas and create, I.e Ebebeagu, has been disbanded today for human rights abuse, extortion, robbery etc. That is an example of what Yorubas can achie e with their own well-trained, modern and science/DNA technology-driven regional police force. OBJ, if he means we'll for the Yorubas and Nigeria, should not be saying this. It is why a lot of Yorubas detest him passionately. Things like DAWN regional initiative, that has the best regional development road map ever created by any Nigerian region, OBJ will arrogantly stay away from and even attempt to shade while our most respected fathers and grandfathers, in the mould of Awolowo, remain consumed with how Yorubas can escape the impediments of one Nigeria so our people and the SW can develop to their best potentials. OBJ always comes across as an elitist and enemy of Yorubas unimpeded development. His talk here is no different to that of Buhari who also arrogantly declared that those asking for restructuring are dangerous. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/06/those-calling-for-restructuring-naive-dangerous-says-buhari/ |

FOR ILLITERATE POLITICIANS, YES IT IS. BUT FOR DISCERNING LEADERS LIKE OBASANJO FALAE AND DANGOTE, IT IS AN ELIXIR FOR NATIONAL UNITY. THE EXCLUSIVE LIST OF DECREE24 IS A MARSHALL LAW AND UNDEMOCRATIC PROVISION. REMOVE IT AND LET EACH STATE BUDGET AND WORK FOR ITSELF, THEN YOU WILL SEE HEALTHY COMPETITION, COORDINATION AND CO-OPERATION AT THEIR BEST. MERGERS LIKE REGIONALISM WILL EMERGE VOLUNTARILY AT THEIR BEST. THERE WILL BE PROGRESS, DEVELOPMENTS AND LIFT UPS GENERALLY IN ALL THE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ROOTS IN NIGERIA. |

HydraFeeds:Precisely. Talks of Ports always reek of ignorance to me. People forget we'd be in total control of our resources and economic direction under regional governance. No region has planned for regional governance more than the progressive Yorubas. People should go and read the comprehensive and full version of the Dawn initiative road map for SW integration written circa 2013. It does not hinge our development and success on any Port or FG-related stipend. Rather it focuses on new industry, socio-economic gains and income the SW can develop successfully and quickly. Till now, no other region has drafted anything similar. Not even those who have been shouting seccession for decades now with some idiot in Finland still drawing crude maps for them. One Nigeria has really held Yorubas back |

Elusive001:Lol. You are one funny dude. Lagos has the Lekki free trade zone and port that is set to be a giant hub of West African and African trading. Whatever you think Lagos will loss with other Nigerians moving back to their States, and clearing goods away from Lagos Ports, will like be replaced and potentially doubled by the international trade Lagos can begin to conduct with our West African and African national. Watch the video below about 7 mega project Nigeria is dominating West Africa with. Count how many in Lagos, including the Lekki free trade zone, to appreciate how far behind Lagos has left other States. International trading, and even tourism sector of a Lagos able to control her e security optimally, will pick up any slack from business departure to other States and region of Nigeria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR8fvLky9wI?si=yyTGKb32pSuqVjQv |

I am just beginning to realize that Obasanjo is actually one of the problem we have. But he's part of the problem by sheer ignorance. Sorry for using that word but there's nothing else it be called in English. Someone should tell him that the different ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria must agree to create a second nation before you can have a united Nigeria or name it whatever you want. You can't have a second country imposed on us by Europeans and find unity. You may on smaller African countries. But you can never have unity on a big country like Nigeria, Congo, Sudan...... even on some smaller countries. |

Zaheertyler:You these crybabies need to stop playing victim. It’s very annoying to be honest. @bolded, why aren’t you asking why those who don’t trust the ibos develop that sentiment in the first place? Did their distrust just come into life out of thin air? Now let’s reverse the scenario and say one day, a group of soldiers of Hausa extraction decided to take out corrupt leader from all regions and regardless of their region of origins but on the D-day, they killed every powerful ibo (including your family’s head and breadwinner), Niger Deltan and Yoruba leader and miraculously, they declared that none of the Hausas in power was as corrupt as those ibos killed hence, they were all spared except for the one (a soldier) that decided to not support this hypocrisy. Also miraculously, the Hausa man that was the head of government also “coincidentally” travelled out just a few hours before the bloodshed and since there were already a leadership vacuum, an Hausa man was installed to be the president and he vowed to deal with every one of his brothers that participated in the killings of your family’ members and leaders but he failed to do so even after 3 years. Now, your ppl, on seeing the Hausa killing of the ibos and leaders from every other region except theirs as an Hausa coup, decided to wage a counter-war against the Hausas and they eventually came out victorious subsequently restoring an ibo man into power after successfully killing the Hausa president who was forced on you during the aftermath of the first killings by the Hausa. Now the question is, are you ibos going to ever trust the Hausas with power again in this life and even the next? Be sincere with yourself Chinedu. You can’t do that to anyone and still expect to be trusted. Nigeria didn’t know something called military coup until your cursed ibo brothers brought it just the same way you introduced armed robbery, baby factory, human ritual and kidnapping to other regions. Kidnapping was alien to us before the Northerners learned the trade from you. Werey gbogbo |
