Thank you for this honestly I was trying to get Starlink but I don't think the upload speed is better than MTN . I upload football videos shot on 4k and it's always large in size though uploading with MTN has been very okay. but the problem is that I exhaust 1TB in a very short time so I'm just looking for a reliable unlimited ISP with good upload speed most importantly.
The network is usually very stable though - so you can have an upload running for hours at a time without failing due to a brief network disconnect.

If you can do overnight uploads, then definitely get starlink.

If you upload heavy files, forget starlink... MTN beats all networks in terms of upload speed, follows by Fiberone.

Starlink upload isn't the best
I upload heavy files because its football video shot on 4k with different cameras. 45 minutes first half and 45 minutes 2nd half making it 90 minutes of play and extra added time makes the raw footage come large .

Yes MTN has been okay but do you know i exhaust 1TB in less than 3 months and depends on the amount of matches played. That's why I was looking for Alternatives

I know its so perfect in streaming and okay in download but a look at upload speed, MTN seems better because the files I upload are heavy and large. Its football video shot on 4k and it comes so large.

Starlink's upload speed is very poor, stick to MTN.
The MTN 1TB get exhausted before 3 months o.

I understand boss, I deal with heavy data upload on YouTube and other platforms.

If there's Fiberone within your vicinity, kindly go for it.
I was disappointed by starlink upload speed, it isn't the best.

Thank you so much for replies. But You're very sure of the Fiberone upload speed and stability?

Downtime is minimum, rarely have that in a month.

I base in Lagos, I can't vouch for Abuja downtime

I've not used their fiber so I can comment on it... But I believe it should be better than their router.

Okay i understand. well I got a call from them that I won't be paying for installation just the subscription though before I got the router box I was using the mifi and when the router box came out they notified me to come pick up the router for free which in turn I dropped the mifi and they gave me the box for free.

Is the MTN fiber service now available in Kubwa?
Re: Starlink Increases Monthly Subscription Price In Nigeria by daves2ng(m): 9:46am On Oct 24, 2024
Please I need help activating my starlink.

I got a new starlink kit from Jumia around March 2024 and ever since then, I have not been able to activate it ever since.
I reached out to starlink and after more than one month of back and forth, I was told I can't activate in Lagos because they are at capacity in Lagos and Abuja.

Just yesterday, October 23, 2024, I decided to turn it on again and I got 1-hour free internet on it(got about 150mbps download) and since it was browsing, I attempted to activate it again, though now expensive at 75,000 a month, I got immediate error after inputting my Lagos address that the service is not available in my location.
I attempted with an Address in Oyo and it took me to the checkout page but my fear is, if I proceed to activate with the Oyo state address (hopefully it goes), won't I be locked to that region only and not able to use it here in Lagos where I need it actually?

Please I will appreciate any help from anyone with a similar experience or got a way out of this.

I posted this here too

It was listed recently in their Abuja fiber location and I got a call yesterday from MTN that they have it now in Kubwa but they need to come check my location to see if they can install it.

Hello mtn recently started mounting poles and running wires in my estate for the Fibrenet
Are you currently using it?
How is the network like?
And would I like to know if I would be paying for any simcard or device or installation?
Re: Starlink Increases Monthly Subscription Price In Nigeria by makavalley(m): 6:28am On Feb 18, 2025
I called them and gave them my exact location but unfortunately the manhole they dug in running the cable is opposite my house,
they didn't make it both ways or crack the tarred road to get the fibres both side of the road . Unfortunately every building opposite the manhole like ours can't get connected at the moment but down Lagos Street and the environs they have the man hole both side of the road. At the moment I can't say if the services is fair or not

They skipped my side so the manhole is at the opposite side of the tarred road which they can't crack at the moment. I am not using it yet
