On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet, naming seven new members, sacking five and swapping 10 others.

In the course of doing this, some ministers became senior ministers.

MORUFU ALAUSA (MINISTER OF STATE FOR HEALTH), NOW MINISTER OF EDUCATION

Alausa’s appointment as the Minister of Education followed the dismissal of Prof. Tahir Mamman.

A medical doctor specialising in nephrology, Dr. Alausa studied Medicine & Surgery at the University of Lagos, graduating in 1993. Не completed his residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he served as Chief Medical Resident.

IMAAN SULAIMAN-IBRAHIM (MINISTER OF STATE FOR POLICE AFFAIRS), NOW MINISTER OF WOMEN AFFAIRS

Sulaiman-Ibrahim replaced the former minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, who topped the list of the major casualties of President Tinubu’s first cabinet reshuffle.

AYODELE OLAWANDE (MINISTER OF STATE FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT), NOW MINISTER OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Olawande, formerly Minister of State for Youth Development, now serves as the Minister for Youth Development.

a common mistake
There is no logic to the assumption that a doctor or health professional should be minister of health
Ministers are political appointments not technical ones
Their job is to represent the electorates and give political leadership to technocrats

The last Minister of education was an embarrassment
His sole idea was stopping young people taking WAEC
The only technocrat job is attorney General

Awolowo was a kawyer and one of the best finance ministers in our history

I'm inquisitive to know the reasons behind the dismissal of the immediate 5 ministers. Was it due to underperformance or unproductivity or political prostitution- anti political game?

I wish the newly nominated and appointed ministers all the best in their new national assignments.

Is this Tinubu's achievement in more than one year in office. How has this development improve the standard of living of common man on the street. If this is the renewed hope APC are talking about then their days are numbered in that office.

This might be true in some cases but for the health care industry, i think having someone with a good solid health care industry experience will go a long way.
There are.some people that can function in just about any role but not everyone.
Alausa is actually doing good in his previous post.
