I can not imagine living under such a government and be happy. Israel never asked Hamas to fire rockets into Israel. This is indicative that Hamas are simply troublemakers.

If the Palestinians in West Bank support Hamas, they can't be blamed. Israel is building more illegal settlements, grabbing more land, cutting down farmers olive trees, and making movement a nightmare for the inhabitants there. They have seen Fatah has been docile, probably because they are either scared of losing power, or believe they are powerless against Israel. Fatah is also very corrupt, so it has a lot to lose if power is taken away from them. Their corruption would be exposed.

They did have money! Money they preferred to use to build the Gaza underground, full of tunnels. Why not use that money to develop Gaza. Israel had its fault but Hamas should have done its best to develop Gaza. Movement in Gaza was not crippled by series of illegal Israeli settlements and roadblocks like in the West Bank.

All that gas is worthless. No sensible investor would want to invest there as the risks are too high. In Nigeria, all the big oil multinationals have moved offshore because of the militancy and lawlessness in the Niger Delta. Is it Gaza they will now come and build billion dollar projects?

In addition, a country does not need oil to natural resources to be rich again. Japan has no oil but it is a rich nation. Gaza can be a prosperous place without gas.

What I repeated that is needed is a win/win for all involved. Israel should treat Gazan Palestinians well.
