LoanShark:
Contact them and request a suspension of default interest then work out a new repayment plan
Do you work with any of the loan companies, your moniker suggest so...

I am currently owing
1. Okash
2. Branch
3. New credit
4. Xcross cash
5. Fairmoney

And they are all due... Not that I am not making efforts to pay them back, I am...

The country is too hard...

Though for now I only receive calls and constant reminders from anyone of them, that if I don't pay they will report my bvn to credit bureau... Sometimes branch and Fairmoney will tell me they will take legal action...

None of my contacts have called me yet to report any form of defamation yet...

I just hope and believe that these five loan apps I am owing are part of the ones that done defame... God go help me out to pay them all...
Nice promotion..

Sometimes it is hard to blame these people as it is the kind of environment prevalent in Nigeria. Over 95% of the average Nigerian borrow with intentions not to repay and these people are into business to make money.

I honestly do not blame these loan companies as they have to resort to whatever means to stay in business.
No. Blame the loan company.

Defaulting, like death, is a certainty. Hence there's usually loan agreement that clearly states what would happen in such a situation, and it never always say defaulter/quarrantor should be sent such a defaming message. Instead, at worst, they're to involve the court (however little the money as the defaulter would pay for the stress/expenses).

They (Blackman) want a life of a western world but can't sacrifice truth to have it ....

Even though they don't take your land and properties must we owe them at due time

I have some guys buy phone from online and later use software to destabilize the app so they won't collect their money anymore and some borrow and never use the app again so they won't pay

Why are we this wicked
Why are we the devil we preach against
But soon we will be calling the leaders for not doing the right thing

Anyone involved should do the right thing please
And don't come and tell me their interest rate is high ... Did you see it before collecting it ?

We just have to try and live right

Any loan app that sent this kind of message have
1. Very high interest and short duration of payment. It's illegal to offer such loans but since they want to break the law,no pity for them whenever people run with their money

2. They are operating illegally and can't take any legal steps to recover their money hence this crude tactics.

They clearly knew the risks they were taking by granting unsecured loans to unqualified people , when they are able to recover their money they smile to the banks , but whenever they are unable to they should count their losses too

they're scammers operating illegally looking for vulnerable people to exploit. How do you lend someone 5k and say he should repay 8k in 7 days time? That alone is even a crime everywhere on earth. Anybody that borrow from them should never repay them until they fold up and go back to the hole they came from

But people knew all these before collecting the loan.
It takes someone with empathy to understand what I am saying... Most people take those loans out of desperation but that doesn't give them the effrontery to tarnish people's image at will.

If you owed someone and had an accident (God forbid), would it be right for the lender to accuse you of sleeping with a dog? Think about it!

most people blame loan sharks, but why will someone borrow and refuse to pay back
make we dey tell ourselves truth ,
if the borrower had paid back , the lender will have no course to complain,
most of these borrowers are evil and wicked. the main motive is not to return the money
,
as u see me so, I hate borrowing money
anybody that borrow from them should never repay until they suffer enough losses and run away. They are criminals exploiting people

cheesy
kevoh:
This defamation has an opposite effect. If the defaulter was having issues or doubts on repaying her loan before, having seen this degrading message, she will never repay.

These loan apps better find creative ways of recovering their money because I believe currently, many Nigerians are so broke (and shameless) that such messages mean nothing to them.

Brother I will never in my life teach anyone how loan apps works, it even you have over 100% means of paying back when u borrow, pls am so sorry ... I can't be the one to tell u how it works...

I don wish anyone to pass through what am passing through, not even my worst enemy...

These loan apps will take away your peace of mind and sanity... Better to be a street beggar than to take from any loan app...

The worst is when u start taking from one loan app to pay another...

I borrowed over 400k to pay close to 800k in 8 months from Fairmoney...
if you have money, pay the 400k you borrowed and forget about the rest. I know someone that borrowed 5k from Carbon, after some time they were even begging her to send the 5k and leave the 3k interest

I do, but my salary in a month can't wipe out even 20% of any of the loan app... I am doing contribution to that, so if they keep deduction of salary... It's like pouring water inside basket cause it won't end...

So it's better it gets overdue and I work on how to pay them back once and for all
block your atm card. If you have money repay fairmony little by little. Revoke all the apps permissions, clear all the data and delete the apps. Then do a new atm card, buy new sim, buy a bottle of strong alcohol, gulp it and sleep. When you wake up next day try to forget about the whole thing.

Did you get permission from God before taking multiple Loans from different companies, even when you know that you can not pay them

terms or no terms, a crime is a crime. Exploiting vulnerable people is a evil. They operate illegally because no law anywhere on earth support demanding 50% interest in 7 days. That's simply against the law and whether or not a vulnerable and desperate person agree to it out of frustration doesn't make it legal. Everyone should borrow from them and never repay until they suffer so much losses and crawl back to whatever hole they crawled out from

If you can

1. Create a video showing you logging into one of the apps and your nairaland account to prove the loan actually exists

2. Allow me pay directly to them, I will assist you with a maximum of 50k.

The ball is in your court. Follow me and I will follow you back so we can DM each other.

Anyone else on this forum who contacts me is wasting his or her time, I will only help one person.

Am even more relaxed now than I was about a month ago, when the first one was due, I wanted to kill myself with too much thinking, but then when I came online and met guys like you who gave me morale, I hardened my heart to what ever it's... After all I no kill person, after all... The total amount they have made from me as interest in the past is ×3 of what am currently owing them...

I still regret finding myself in this mess, but what can I do, we are all in the same country, we dey see how things dey go, if they think defamation is the way forward, let them continue

Nothing justifies this criminal libel

The person should proceed with a civil case of libel and claim heavy damages

They are all fraudulent scammers. If they were not intent on scamming people they will seek registration with cbn based on laid down rules and guidelines.

Some will advertise and say they will give you a loan of up to 300k, in the end they will give you 30k and expect you to pay back 150k in 2wks or else they will defame you

Mind you the moment you sign up to them automatically a virus is sent through their application into your phone giving them access to your contacts, social media accounts, cameras etc. Think about this before you sign up with them.

And once you sign up with one, 5 other unsolicited companies will push fund into your account in an effort to blackmail you into paying for loans you didnt ask for.

Someone i know had to call indeed write the bank to stop unsolicited funds from these strange loan entities being lodged into her account. Inorder to preserve her good name, she initially took new loans to repay old ones until she was overwhelmed. A 50k curiosity loan multiplied rapidly to 980k at which point she had to cry out.

In the end she lost over 450k with a rubbished reputation.
