This is the fact about bread bakery business i have been observing for some years now.

After a owner has successfully opened and have started producing bread, after some time the business will go into non-existence or just simply say it will stop existing. I saw that another new bread factory within that same town will pop-up and displace your already established bread factory! Then no distributors will be coming to your factory to buy bread again. All of dem will relocate to that new bread factory.

Who has observed this?

You have to be very 'Strong' to do bakery and succeed.
The first phrase my then teacher taught me when I was learning the business was "ishé buredì ni ishé aiyé" yoruba brethren should come and interprete.

I saw many things when I was doing that business. I sha thank God.

For you to succeed in bakery business (or any business for that matter), there must be something (a unique flavour) that sets your brand apart from others.

Take Bokku (mart) bread for example; they're fast taking over Lagos, especially mainland, due to the unique flavour of their bread.
Around my area alone, they already opened three outlets. And since I got to taste their bread, I hardly eat a day old cold bread from retail stores. If e no hot, I no dey chop.

Bokku has no unique flavor.

People rushed it cos of it thickness and now the sales have dropped cos of price.



Speaking of retail stores, the one we used to buy bread from almost daily has almost run out of business because of Bokku stores. Lord have mercy.
Nobody wan chop cold bread again.
