1) Allegations of Corruption
Tinubu's assets were frozen by the U.S. government in 1993 due to suspicions of heroin dealing. He later settled and forfeited $460,000. Additionally, in 2007, the Federal Government brought him before the Code of Conduct Bureau for trial over alleged illegal operation of 16 separate foreign accounts.

2) In 2009, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission cleared Tinubu of charges of conspiracy, money laundering, abuse of office, and official corruption related to a sale of Vmobile network shares in 2004. However, reports surfaced in 2009 that the British Metropolitan Police were investigating a transaction involving the Lagos State government's investment in Econet (now Airtel), which Tinubu claimed was straightforward and profitable.

3) Controversy Surrounding Finances
During the 2019 election, a bullion van was spotted entering Tinubu's residence, leading to questions about his financial dealings. Tinubu responded, "I keep money anywhere I want".

4) Nepotism Allegations
In February 2024, Tinubu appointed Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, his son-in-law, as head of the Federal Housing Authority, sparking criticism for alleged nepotism.
