Anyone who has spend even a few hours in Canada will know that there are all kinds of very low interest student loans and subsidies that are easily available to Canadian citizens and even their permanent residents(Canadian equivalent of the U.S green card), all that is needed to qualify is to be enrolled in a Canadian university. She probably made up that cock and bull story to gain the sympathy of the judge.

How many Nigerians caught are for drugs are really serving their sentences in Nigeria? Most them get sn option of fine..... I have a some first hand information about that.

Being forced is an an excuse or the reason. The judge used her discretion. It better she pay the fine. And definitely her country drug law enforcement agency will be contacted. She will be arrested in Canada. And sentenced according to their law. In some cases , if she wasn't born in Canada or grew up there , they might revoke her citizenship.
