nateevs:Thanks for the question. My point is that Chelsea should aim to be like Madrid, the greatest club side ever or even better. Real Madrid doesn't care if he concedes or not. The mentality there is that if you my opponent can score 2,i can score 3,you score 3,I can score 4. They look to have more goals than their opponents. Unlike the timbros that want Chelsea to be Chelsea of 2004,to go into a game and score 1 and lock up. It will not work in this big 2024. The mentality is the reason why you can't point to any game were we have been down by 2goals in the last 15years and still came back to win while i can name several instances from other big teams that are doing better than us. Because like timbros we go into the game hoping we just score one goal and defend all through. |

popizaino:Under Conte in 2018. 2 goals down against Southampton ended up winning 3:2. |

popizaino:Madrid with their low block don't care about conceding because Dortmund scored 2 goals against them. Before that game, the only team to score twice against Madrid since May is Alaves. |

Kimbeast:One match in 15years. It would have been better if you didn't mention any. |

swiz123:You just like naming terminologies to make it sound like you know it better. What's is low block about madrid? The fact that only Alaves scored twice against Madrid is not tastement to them playing low block. It could be as a result of sterile attack of their opposition,or a well grounded Madrid defence. Ancelotti's philosophy is deeply rooted in free flowing football so is Madrid. |

popizaino:I shouldn't be teaching you basics in football. A team who tries to win the ball very high up the pitch uses a high line as evident in where their defence line is when defending. A low block on the other hand is seen when a team prefers to keep their defensive shape deep in their own half and wait for the opposition to attack them so they can win the ball back. This is a very cautious approach to defending. A look at Barcelona and Real Madrid style will reveal this to you. I hope you have learnt this one today. |

Just to show how difficult it is to win any game when 2 goals down. The ultra attacking Pep has gone 2:0 down with City 28times and won 4. https://www.reddit.com/r/MCFC/comments/16b3jl6/i_was_curious_how_often_city_have_gone_20_down/ |

swiz123:This is what happens when you read football rather than watching. There is a reason why the goalkeeper wears no 1 and the rb and LB wears 2 and 3 respectively. Football starts from the back all the way up to your opponents goals. How you choose to attack defines your philosophy not how you defend. How many times will i teach you this before it sticks with you? |

popizaino:This explanation is confusing .. the other guy is right .. Mardrid uses low block even a blind man would know that after seeing them play consecutively 😋😋 |

popizaino:You didn't understand what low block means and I graciously explained it to you. It's left for you to use it and analyze why Madrid concedes less goals. Of course, you thought Madrid concedes a lot of goals. |

oliverano:Are you watching THAT game? What do you think of Soton’s performance? I think they’ve been solid and are the dominant team. City are a goal up but Soton are surprisingly taking the game to them at the Etihad. |

Goals is the name of the game now and you win the maximum points when you outscore your opponent. Man UTD with 9 goals conceded, are in 12th position on the table, while Aston Villa with 10 goals conceded are 3rd. Your guess is as good as mine - Villa's better attack, the difference. MOU wasn't foolish when he asked Abrahamovic to cough out big on Drogba and "don't speak". Also, Fraudiola had to do everything legally and illegally possible to land Haaland and win his first Ucl without Messi. Arteta was foolish not to have got a natural 9 and steal the Epl this season. He will learn the hard way by May. |

Leyqute:Yeah that's the game I'm watching. Nunez a CM is showing some skills on that left hands side lol. Also Southampton are keeping possession well without really troubling city though. Aside that Archer chance. The Southampton coach will get a big job soon. He's good but doesn't have the players to do exactly what he wants. You can see what he's trying to do with that transition that led to Archer hitting the bar. Game is still on and I think city will be more ruthless in the second half. Good game! |

oliverano:I thought it would be a badgering TBH. City had spells of possession too but closer to Soton’s goal. However they haven’t been able to create clear cut chances. The first 20 mins of the second half will be telling. It would well turn out to be a badgering eventually. |
