Feldie:80% of the people supporting apc lack common sense and just swallow every trash, propaganda and lie to support what they do not understand. 19% are beneficiaries of the twisted system operated by apc. They understand that the policies are haphazardly implemented and the socio-economic fabric of the country has been torn, but they are the chosen few who prosper on the agony and suffering of the masses. The remaining 1% are the powerbrokers. They control the narrative. They hide thier incompetence and greed behind deceptive people oriented policies. |

iwaeda:Nonsense sets of people. Are they shutting down because of the high price of fuel or low consumption by consumers or depleted capital? Which exactly is it because it can't be all three of it except they are clearly mischievous....... I wonder why they are going to meet PBAT for such funds did they not have insurance in their business against such and what have they been doing with their profits over the years? What happened to those of them who we were told have stopped carrying petrol and diesel and have converted their trucks to carry gas? |

Seefinish:Do you have any idea about how bad this news is? Most SMEs use petrol or diesel to run their businesses. The drop in patronage means more people who depend on these businesses are now out of work and have lost a means of living. |

Newyorkitis:Don't mind people, the money generated from the removal will be embezzled and at the same time Nigerians won't have fuel, imagine the drama go going on, fractional distillation of crude gives not less than 8 bye products yet we are still struggling in this country,I'm tired of everything. |

Good for them since the marketers turned themselves to Mafias and not ready to reason and align with the govt and they kept listening to election losers to punish Nigerians so they can say didn't we said it, so let the marketers too lose their job in thousands so everybody eat from the breakfast. I don't bloody give a f u c k entire marketers shit go extinct. Nonsense!!! |

If the quote below is true, the 92% drop is unbelievable and indicates two issues: one, the 60 million litres per day was an exaggeration and exploiting the government subsidies and two, Nigeria are just too poor to buy cheap oil(Nigeria's oil is still the most inexpensive in the world) Data from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority indicate that fuel consumption dropped to 4.5 million litres per day in August 2024, down from 60 million litres per day in May 2023—a staggering 92 per cent decline. |

Biodun556:We don't generate enough electricity for electric vehicles and even if we did, there is the matter of upgrading the national grid way beyond what Siemens is doing to enable it carry millions of ev at a time re.charging. Solar charging points cost money, before you start yapping about it. At least 1600 thousand dollars and you would need thousands of them to be adequate enough |

Cost of loading fuel rose from 7 million to 47 million. I spy with my little eye, the death of our fuel-based economy. Shebi if nobody is working, there will be nobody to tax

Serves them right They've enjoyed enough subsidy money - money that Nigeria did not have and had to borrow to the tune of trillions Nigerians are too desperately corrupt, notoriously greedy and unpatriotic to enjoy subsidy |

Ikaeniyan0:You get sense so? A sector is shrinking and you are gloating. What happens to both the oil sector, alternative energy sector and agricultural sector growing together. This confirms that APC and their praise singers are bereft of ideas. It's a shame to allow the dregs of society lead this nation |

What then is the benefit of the unnecessary increase in the price of petrol when people are no longer buying? Who lost at the end of the day? The government! |
