Our problem in every sector is leadership .. our leaders are too corrupt to do any meaningful work. From head to toe ,they are stinking with corruption.
There can't be economic development without adequate energy supply . Even the current billing system is nothing but corruption .

States had the opportunity of circumventing the law then and that was what Lagos State started with.
The law then was that: once a state generated more than 18 megawatts of electricity at a power plant, any excess above the 18 megawatts must be connected to our national grid.

So all electricity generated by Lagos State then at each power plant was always below 18 megawatts and this made Lagos State to have multiple power plants that were generating below 18 megawatts.

Other states could have done that but most of our state governors see their states as not viable states for such development. They know we people of the state won’t complain about this since we all focus on federal government. They are aware we know less about proper governance and we can’t interpret the constitution. They know we are toothless bulldogs. We only bark. We can’t bite.
That’s why they do so many things and get away with it.
