Ogun State IGR Grows From ₦‎70 To ₦‎147 billion In 4 Years by Lanrelagboi(op): 8:57am On Oct 29, 2024
OGUN STATE IGR in 2023 is more than the IGR of....

-- 5 States from the South East
-- 6 States from the North East

Ogun State — ₦146.88 billion

South East IGR — ₦142.95 billion

North East IGR — ₦104.35 billion
https://x.com/StatiSense/status/1851156357782610061?t=CtrRqNwGDphBUd17BM9nDg&s=19

Let’s take a trip down memory lane with @StatiSense .

Flash back to IGR of Ogun State vs South East state in 2010:

Ogun— N7.9bn

Abia— N11bn

Anambra— N7.7bn

Ebonyi— N13bn

Enugu—- N8.8bn

IMO— N5.7bn

Just 14 years later, Ogun State now rakes in more IGR than all of the South East States COMBINED.

Why am i highlighting this? Because most people have ran with the lies that Ogun State has always had money. In the truest sense, as facts have just shown you, Ogun State’s financial re-engineering and dedication to development began just 14 years ago. Look at how much ground the state covered and accomplished in just 14 years. So when we tell you Ogun State is on the right track, listen and pay attention.

Also, our IGR exploded under Dapo Abiodun, his admin has grown the IGR from N70bn in 2019 to N148billion in 2023.

End.

This is impressive but more work has to be done. More industries opened up to keep the upward trend.

Good enough, it is the most industrialized state in Nigeria, it just needs to push harder

Stop using naira to measure ur growth because it depreciating everyday. The value of ur igr 4 years ago when u use dollar rate you will see that u have made no improvement because ur purchasing power is very weak now.

Everything to some people is tribalism. When the news is favourable to Yoruba they attack a Yoruba mod like mynd. When it favours Igbo they insult nlfpmod (I don't like him anyway).

Nigeria must divide. Let us go out separate ways.

And yet, the state has one of the worst road in Nigeria.

I call him SALARY GOVERNOR and thats what he knows how to do best.

Stop this brother. It's not nice.

Pigging back on what the earlier poster has said can people in Ogun tell us how things are presently there. Is the gov introducing infrastructures and the like? Does he have a vision for Ogun?
Re: Ogun State IGR Grows From ₦‎70 To ₦‎147 billion In 4 Years by covidkiller: 9:23am On Oct 29, 2024
There's no growth there.

Four years ago, $1 = N470
Therefore, N70 billion = $149 million

Today, $1 = N1,600
Therefore, N147.8 billion = $92 million

So, the state actually DECLINED from $149 million to $92 million in 4 years, recording a mega loss of $57 million.

Don't allow them deceive you. The state didn't do well.

I think we can both agree that someone without vision won't double the IGR within 4 years

Lolz

That means Ogun minimum wage should be at least 350,000

That's 70,000x 5(south east states)

But how much is their minimum wage again?

Higher IGR with lower Development=criminality

Ogun IGR increased because of those that relocated from the SE to Lagos an find their level in Ogun State.

This is not a tribal bashing thread so to speak but the reality of effect of lack of environmental peace which made so many business owners to relocate

Toh

helinues:
Like my earlier analysis before his reelection, people expected DA to be embarking on most especially road projects while there are so many abandoned road projects litter around the state.

His first term focused on how to generate new IGR for the state and also attract investors which I think he was able to to some extent.

His second term, he should have reasonable money available to embark on the abandoned projects and new initiatives

What do you mean by federal road pls?

Are you saying because is federal road , a reasonable government can't fix it and apply for refund from federal govt?

Are you saying because is federal road , people living around such road shouldn't enjoy good social amenities ?

Are you saying that during the elections, the so call State government doesn't seek for electorate vote?

Or Re you saying with the acclaim IGR, he can't save guard is citizens ?

Let be honest with our self, nothing is indeed working in Ogun state as we never had it this worst in the past

Mynd44, impressive yes, but critical questions must be asked. What is Dapo Abiodun doing with all that money?

How can a state that's IGR is more than the entire south-east IGR propose to pay a lower minimum wage than Enugu state?

If Ogun state isnt progessing, what do you have to say to those 5 Eastern states with even less upward trend

Stop being sentimental, if you criticize the one with an edge, you should have a word for losers too

Instead of celebrating useless IGR, ask your governors what they’re doing with the money. No city or town in that same Ogun state can compare favourably with cities in the South East.

Ordinary roads in Ogun state are all in deplorable confitions, most people live in shanties, open defeacation is prevalent, they use wells and skull mining is the fastest growing vocation.

Continue celebrating useless IGR when your state is in very poor condition.

Oga, leave the South East out of your madness. The USD has a significant impact on Nigeria's economy and should be the yardstick for measuring IGR because Ebola has rendered naira worthless.
Re: Ogun State IGR Grows From ₦‎70 To ₦‎147 billion In 4 Years by mrvitalis(m): 9:43am On Oct 29, 2024
IMO GDP is almost twice Ogun

GDP and GDP per capita is what is used to judge an economy, there is no where in the world IGR is used to judge economy... That's that

If Ogun with half IMO GDP decides to over tax it's people to make 10x IMO IGR thats their business

But the question should be with the improved IGR is there any developmental metrics Ogun is better than the likes of IMO and Anambra with far far lower IGR?

Access to education? Access to health?
Infant mortality? Literacy rate?
Good roads?

So I think the citizens of Ogun should be massively protesting this rip off not celebrating it

Nigeria cannot be split because many beneficiaries of this dysfunctional country will do anything to keep it going. The earlier you realise that, the better for you.
