As A Woman, Is It Ok For Your Husband Not To Eat Your Food After A Fight? by lurlah2014(op): 9:24am On Oct 29, 2024
In a case of dispute, and your husband refuses to eat your food or give you money for food as his wife would you beg him later even if you are not at fault just for him to eat your food or you will let go and wait till he is ready to continue eating your food?

Please, if you're quarreling with your wife, leave innocent food out of it. Never reject food at home unless you caught your wife cheating, which she should be in her father's house not your house.

If he decides not to eat, it’s okay but he must drop food allowance.

If he decides not to drop the allowance, it’s still okay because how else am I gonna know he is irresponsible?

In all, I’m not gonna beg anyone to eat my sweat

You don't need to beg. Just serve him his food anytime you finish preparing meal.
Continue dis, till he starts eating!

When he is hungry he will eat, and if he refuses to drop food allowance, I buy my foodstuffs with my own money and feed I and my children. His loss, not mine

Seems like majority of u guys still assume it's the man who foot the bills for the house. There are some men, infact, majority of married men who only eats but have no idea how the money for the food comes by.
Ask working mothers and market women.

The question is for children.
Even some children know it's their mum that provides daily meal.

So, what happens to the already dished food if he continues to not eat them?

"Your food."

"Give you money for food."

"As a woman..., if your husband..., during a fight..."

I don't know. I don't know if I'm just naïve or unrealistic or just not living in reality because where do y’all get these scenarios and wording from?

What are you people getting into where petty fights and retaliation are the order of the day lol?
Re: As A Woman, Is It Ok For Your Husband Not To Eat Your Food After A Fight? by Magnoliaa(f):
But on another note, why is there an assumption that I would cook in the first place? 😹

Me that I can eat biscuits and go to bed? Is it also when we fight that food will miraculously finish at home?

You people should please.

He should simply tell her he wasn't going to eat, so she can cook less portions.

Your husband is not your master, and you shouldn't beg him since you ain't at fault. If he isn't eating your food, it is because he is not hungry yet.

If I am not happy with you, I may likely not eat your food or sleep with you, and no big deal to be honest. Do not read too much meaning into it as couples quarrel and makeup. I once went to bed out of anger and refused to eat my wife's food, Menh, I could not sleep that night and pride could not allow me tippy-toe into the kitchen to get something in my stomach.

I saw twinkle little stars that night and I quickly learned there is an inverse relationship between an empty stomach and food. subsequently, when annoyed, I would drive out to a bar and satisfy myself before coming in late. I can cook most food too.

Are you married?

As an African woman. There is an implicit assumption that you must cook and the husband must provide. Whether this is right or wrong is a subject open for debate but we are talking about customs and traditions here. I also have lots of white lady friends who cook for their spouses and no big deal.

I always eat albeit with a bone-face as a conveyance of my displeasure and anger.

Your sweat? The money for the food or the effort into making the food?
If he drops the money for food and decides not to eat, would that be characterized as your "sweat" also?
Re: As A Woman, Is It Ok For Your Husband Not To Eat Your Food After A Fight? by Sapasenator: 7:18pm On Oct 29, 2024
We focus so much on the food and not the root cause of the quarrel and rancor. I see lots of women trying to use food or sex to appease the man instead of a simple apology when they are in the wrong or have a disagreement with the husband which is their fault. I have been in this position many times in the past and had simply turned down the sex and the food. all I needed was the apology.

My persistent serving of your meals always, will tell you that this woman has a open heart and hold nothing against you. After a while, you just start seeing yourself eating!

You are right especially if you persistently assault my nostrils with smells of delicious food from the kitchen, I may have no choice but to cave in. Lol

My exact story this evening, I served hubby but forgot to give him washing hand bowl, while he was waiting I didn't realize till he called my attention to it.

When I brought it he was still scolding me, I now told him that instead of waiting this long hoping I was bringing it, why didn't he just get it himself? Na so oga vex say he no dey eat again...
I apologized immediately because if I didn't, malice don start be that.
I can't cope with malicious attitude and that's why I always apologize to him and any other person that wants to get offended by what I say or do....E no dey hard me to do.
But I must say my mind first even if I will later go down on my knees to apologize.
