Toh

Just wondering why some people can't resolve whatever without massaging themselves egos. What's the big deal in the honourable man to also come down from the car/from his gate and take his order? Was he really hungry?

Sometimes ago, I was passing bye at night, a guy was in front of me holding this plastic cup, while trying to pass him, someone pushed me from the back while I pushed the guy holding the cup, the content was hot tea, so almost half poured away. The guy looked back angrily and poured the remaining hot tea on me, I looked at him, laughed and Waka.

To start with, I can't just imagine how much a jog of the tea would cost that I can't afford to buy back not to talk of a cup if he had questioned maturely why did I push him.

Secondly, such kind of person was ready for trouble, I ain't so I avoided it

Common sense should be applicable in some situations

Exactly my thoughts. I dont know why our people are being overtly emotional here. That driver was basically grumbling all through. At a point he looked like he was going to start a fight.
The driver looked very unhappy. Very petulant and unnecessarily rude! Yes rude! Like i said in another thread, a millionaire/vip is so for a reason. It is not your job to tell him how to enjoy his money. If he wants to be served in his bathtub, as long as he is paying for it, so be it.

And if you are trying to do a job that will force you to deal with such people, prepare yourself for these. If you are easily offended by the behaviours or attitude of the rich and and powerdul, then by all means stay away from them. A rich man can not order for his rich food in a rich way, only for an angry and petulant driver to be ordering him around. I will break your head to maintian my steeze. Chikenaa.
The driver was wrong!
Do you even think about his own safety, what makes you think that a man who can openly said he will make someone disappear and nothing will happen is not a potential kidnapper? Do you realise the whole drama was happening at night? If he had no evil intention, why were his aids not close by him by that time of the night, why did he not say ok, since the man is not willing to come in, let one of my house help or security receive it for me?
The moment money is involved in an issue, you guys suddenly lost it. This issue happened at night which could be the reason why the guy was trying to be careful and God really saved him because for me, his fear was confirmed.

No doubting your ethnicity. You are definitely from the ethnic group that produces the most arrogant, most casually violent and most emptily pompous Nigerians to exist who are today killing themselves senselessly. They quarrel with and fight all others worldwide.

Unprovoked assault against others is a jailable offence in every sane nation of the world. Full stop. I would not expect lawless throwbacks to get that.

Many people are jumping to conclusion just based of off the snippet of the video posted by the Bolt delivery driver.

The Bolt driver was very disrespectful and lacks customer service. His demeanor shows he doesn't like his job and doesn't want to be there. He ordered the man to come outside and pick up his food. Hon. Ikwechegh said no, he needs to bring it inside, which is expected as that's why people use such delivery services and pay the extra delivery fees. What if Hon. Ikwechegh was sick and couldn't make it outside? This is what delivery service is for. Otherwise, it's meaningless. They can as well go outside and drive to the restaurant themselves.

Hon. Ikwechegh even called the restaurant asking what's going on as he couldn't understand why the driver is acting in this manner. If I were him, I would have asked him to return the food. Can't trust eating a food delivered by a driver having an attitude.

Yes, his actions were wrong but the bolt driver was very disrespectful to order a man that lives in an upscale part of the city and obviously an honorable member to come outside. If he had his security detail, they would dealt with him and rightfully so. Delivery driver is a customer service job, you have to do it respectfully.

It appears this could also be premeditated by the bolt driver, like he's been there before, perhaps, didn't like his tip and decided to set him up by acting disrespectfully.
Exactly. Nobody is even seeing it from that angle. The honorable over reacted though, but the delivery guy was way too disrespectful. You brought something for me,and you want me to come and meet you in your car to pick it up,who does that? And look at the maner her was even responding,so rude.

That's the delivery procedure for uber. You come and meet them close to the car. Because ordinary jumia has a lot of dead delivery riders. You don't expect them to come into your compound then you frame them up or kill them.

Maybe because you're female so they felt its less risky. Because normally they shouldn't enter your gate. Numerous delivery guys have been killed. This is nigeria.

Owontime:
Nonsense, the IPOB albino must pay for his crime. He must be suspended from the House of Representatives.
He should. It is assault pure and simple. Yet IPOB folks, including OP offering this lame defence for his brother, are arrogantly empty dullards.

Claim to be intelligent yet always arguing foolishly and arrogantly without facts. Below is uBer official delivery policy. Curbside is clear to all but the arrogant "do you know who I am" IPOB Alex Ikwechegh.

Yet the daft OPP is talking about "upscale part of the city" and "honorable member" as if those things should be greater than the policy provision of Uber. This is why I will always argue it anywhere that Nigerians are the problem and not the leader alone.

Leaders don't come from a different planet. They are from same homes, local government and society we all hail from.

Imagine if this OP, who sits here cursing others bigotedly all day and making excuses for the indefensible, becomes a political leader in future?

What kind of leadership will he deliver? For sure he will be be horrendously biased towards blind defense of his fellow Igbos to the detriment of other ethnic groups. You will find also that all who defend this horrid Ikwechegh character will be Igbo.

For me, because I don't fool myself, regionalism is the way forward. Let all go and lead themselves at regional level. We are just deceiving ourselves with "one Nigeria" fake unity crap.

package. NOTE: The package recipient should be available to meet the driver curbside. If you need to ask the driver to leave the package at the recipient's door, you must include those instructions as part of the special delivery instructions or in a message to the driver within the app. Uber does not maintain insurance for packages.

Rubbish. Someone who is unwell should make adequate plans for their own support that does not involve relying on total strangers.

Abi you want to turn delivery driver into nurse and carer also? In any case, there was even a gateman who should have simply accepted the delivery yet he direct the driver to take the delivery to the Rep. Power drunk household and set up. Go and see VDM interview with the uBer driver.

Are you Igbo? I ask because I know how those folks reason in a clannishly weird way to defendthe indefensiblewhen it comes to their own.

E.g "Buhari dead and replaced by Jubrin from Sudan" rumour all Igbos accepted out of slavish love for anything Kanu declares.

Most Nigerians are mini tyrants and love oppression if they have power over other people. This is why Big men threaten poor men with a shout of 'Do you know who I am?' and the poor ones would repeat similar behaviours if their fortunes change and they have find themselves in positions of authority. This is one of the reasons why ordinary Nigerians that join the Police, Military and other Services ,like to oppress the less fortunate ones.

When I was undergoing the compulsory NYSC orientation camp in one of the Northern States, there were some indigenes of the town that came to work within the camp and some worked as more or less errand boys/servants in an office in the camp. One of them was a guy called Abdullahi, who could barely speak in English language.

We were very friendly with them and this guy was becoming rude. One afternoon, I was encouraging him to return to his secondary school complete his education and do WAEC exams ,but he said he had his own plans- he wants to join the Military.

He said he applied the previous year but wasn't taken because he is originally from Tchad and has no Nigerian indigenship documents but he said, this time he would be taken because he had procured a recommendation letter as an indigene from the Emirof the town.

He further boasted that once he join the Military, he would lobby to be posted to NYSC orientation camp, where he would have opportunity to whip 'some corners with koboko' .
He also discussed some 'disciplinary measures' he would mete out to the corners. This was a very poor almajiri boy that struggled to speak in English language, already having this kind of mindset.

This politician can NOT try this in Europe ,Canada or US, he would have been charged for assault.
