In as much as some people feel Vinicius jr was cheated I feel that numbers don't lie.
Below image compares rodri to Vinicius
Also I fetched rodri vs modric stats so you can see that numbers don't lie.
Also Rodri is a defensive midfielder his role is totally different from that of vinicius jr which is more of a winger.
Rodri despite being a defensive midfielder scores goals and provides assists .
He has 8 goals and 9 assists for mancity in the premier league last season.

The third picture is Vinicius jr stats for Brazil in both world cup qualifiers and copa America.
Brazil could not win Copa America meanwhile Rodri won Euros with Spain.

But when lewandowski was meant to win it ahead of Messi, so as halland ....it was no longer about stats ... The bias towards Messi destroyed that awards credibility

If all these stats were put in use many years ago, Lionel Messi wouldn't have won like 3 or 4 Ballon dors.

Have you ever heard any sane person questioning Ronaldo's Ballon d'or award? Everybody agreed that he deserved them in those years he won them. It was only Messi's past Ballon d'or many people found questionable till today.
