Have you asked your state governor what he's doing with the huge allocation he gets from FG every month?
i was expecting your father to stand in front to do the asking for us. Where i come from our elders stand in front to ask questions.

You don’t know anything. I was borne and brought up in Lagos. I now live in Ogun and loving it. You don’t get stuck in traffic, no pressure cooker situation on the roads, very relaxed life. Many people work in Lagos and live in Abeokuta. Many rich people I mean. Power is more stable, security is far better than Lagos. No muggers and robbers, no area boys, life is just cool. Yes, night life is almost none but I don’t need it anyway. And while cost of items are hitting the roof in Lagos, Ogun is relatively cheaper.
Then travel and see life in some other states like Akwaibom, Enugu, Jos and some others. You can't compare them with Ogun state based standard of living and functional infractures

Keep deceiving yourself! Who is telling you Ogun state even wants someone like you with better and envy mindset in the first place? Can you even afford a house or you think someone will even dash you a room?A place majority of your Biafra brothers and sisters have occupied after escaping weekly sit-at-home. Ogun is growing and becoming richer; attracting investors that matter most, but you sit down somewhere waiting for Ogun state to bring development plan to your room before you believe Ogun is progressing.

You better tell ekpa to stop destroying una state and stop chasing investors away. Ogun is of no match to you in developmental measurement. Investors see good things that attracted them to Ogun state while the run away from yours. Your approval and rating is irrelevant because you can't give anything to Ogun state than extortion and envy
Learn to be civil and reasonable, it will help you in life. Just an advice

Smh. Your response, albeit uncouth, has absolutely nothing to do with the post that was responded to.

Btw, if you are recommending only GDP or you consider it the important parameter, it's obvious that you don't understand economics. I will assist you by advising you to go read about different metrics used for measuring human development indices.
I will no longer respond to your post.
grin you people really got time off your sleeves responding to that illiterate trader with no idea of how to measure economic growth grin

He his better off ignored, he his just pained non of his barren state is featured on the list, if reverse was the case, he won’t have a problem with the stats, you should understand the psychology of an average ibo by now cheesy

Let's stop the hyping of Lagos state.
Most of the key investments and infrastructure that enable Lagos to generate huge IGR were done or established by the federal government when Lagos was the federal capital e.g. sea ports, airports, roads, location of banks and company headquarters, embassies etc. in Lagos etc.
These infrastructure had attracted further investments, companies , workers and businesses to Lagos and that is the reason Lagos is getting huge IGR. It is not by any special hard work or innovation of any Lagos state governor or government. A similar thing would happen in any former federal capital if it had the kind of investments that went to Lagos when it was federal capital
aside from Lagos I guess the remaining state also on the list was former capital and also attracted FG investment🤣🤣

You lot just keep giving excuses for the failure you elected in your shitty region and why no SE state featured on the list…make Una continue Dey defend failure 🤣🤣

SE are drawing the entire South down with their protective and overpampering of their governors who just pay salary and bolt with the remaining money.

Rather than concerntrate on generating revenue, they prefer to dance gwo gwo gwo ngwo and spend the rest of their time blaming Tinubu and SW people

Just imagine Kwara state is generating more revenue than Anambra says more about the priority of those who have ruled the state.

Their love with IPOB and anything mediocre is worrisome, as many of them detest Soludo who is trying to clean up the mess of Peter Obi.

It is high time SE people talk to themselves and think home rather than turns SW to their home
The question is, what have they done with those high IGR ? Lagos, Delta and kaduna states lead among states with highest debts in the country while Ogun lacks basic infrastructures that make a city habitable. So where are the huge monies going to ? Ponder about this

I've been to Enugu state before, the state is a civil servant state with nothing meaningful going on there. There's massive poverty in Enugu state.
cheesy they will be showing you empty individual building has development,as them to mention industrial estates, infrastructures that aid development and they will come up with another nonsense.

Very primitive village dwellers, they can’t just get off their high horse and that’s life does not start and end by been arrogant and boastful about things beyond their ability.

Boss, when I visited Enugu state, my mouth was wide open. There's almost no economic activity happening throughout the state. It's either you're a civil servant or you are a farmer. Except from some part of the state capital, the rest of Enugu is a village. Enugu state is so over hype.

Ogun ahead of Rivers State ? You're a joker. I'm from Enugu and my state is doing well without high IGR like Ogun.
Stop doubting everything you see. States' internal revenue boards release their IGRs and the data is published and ranked. Everything no be argument. Ogun State is close to Lagos and has more companies than most states in Nigeria, excluding Lagos.

Writing long epistle can never change the fact that Lagos was built with Oil Money.
To me Lagos is very backward, cos Lagos should be bragging with the likes of top cities in RSA, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, etc.
FreeStuffsNG:
Yinmu. If I state the fact of how Abeokuta has great roads and overhead bridges now, you will shift the lie that it's because it is the state capital, abi.

Ogun state is rapidly improving and it's now that I can see where the state government is getting funds for these massive projects.

If I were you, I will hold my own state Governor responsible for not being among the top 5.

Ogun is on a good track. Ogun is far ahead of many states in terms of progress and massive infrastructure improvements, including a state like Rivers that is using its own IGR to demolish public infrastructures including the Rivers State House of Assembly complex.

It is unfortunate that you were miseducated to think that FG made Lagos when Lagos itself is far older than the Federal Government of Nigeria and as at 1900 no single member of some major Nigerian tribes had even set foot in Lagos yet Lagos was already made. It's this solid foundation of Lagos of our Lagos/ Yoruba forebears and God's favor that made Lagos state survive even after the mass exodus of Non-Yoruba, especially Igbo during what they called "Oso Abiola ".

FG facilities were in moribund states that became an eyesore all over our state yet the same FG was planting bombs over our city and assassinating our leaders while many of you and your parents, forebears swore never to return to Lagos and were certain that it was over for Lagos.

We had nowhere to run to and learnt a very valuable lesson, today, we have built our own bridges, train networks, ports, stadium, Teaching Hospital etc. Lagos state was never built by the FG. In fact, it became a liability on the state.

We overcame all the adversities of dilapidated/obsolete failed eyesore FG infrastructures, ghost town Lagos CBDs, filth, bomb blasts, OPC/Hausa wars, raging & ravaging Atlantic Ocean coastline, state sponsored assassination of our Yoruba leaders on the streets of Lagos, Abeokuta and Ibadan, etc when the rest of Nigeria abandoned Lagos for their Yoruba host after the annulment of June 12, 1993 and relocation of federal capital away from Lagos. They trooped en masse to their villages and states mocking us that it was over for us. Today, we are happy that we reversed things in Lagos and it is no more Oso Abiola in Lagos, it's now reverse. Our state is now courted by same people and their descendants who mocked Lagos then. We and our parents did it! We are grateful to God and few other Nigerians and foreigners who stood by us during the low ebb period of our city. We are building our own Lagos state-owned state of the art world class ports, bridges, teaching hospitals, airports, stadia etc today.

If you are a non-Yoruba, when you relocate your investment to Lagos, my advice for you is to stay off the local Lagos Yoruba politics, do not go into illegitimate and criminal business, face your investments, give back to your Lagos host community in form of corporate social responsibility, do not destroy the environment, respect and live at peace with your Yoruba host and watch how Yorubaland will bless you , your family and investment with great returns far beyond your expectations!

This is the best time for you to relocate your investment to Lagos.
May God continue to bless Lagos State and Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!

We will not allow you foul up our own history with your falsehood borne out of crass ignorance, envy and bigotry. Therefore, we will write epistle to set the record straight.

Many of you are incorrigible and unteachable. Here's the Lagos many of your forebears never knew existed before even Nigeria was formed. https://www.nairaland.com/7791204/lagos-high-society-weddings-1920s

It was Nigeria and your ilks that actually slowed down Lagos and the old western region. Not even Ibadan that had the firsts in Africa; first stadium , first TV station, first skyscraper in west Africa, first university in Nigeria etc was built with oil money let alone Lagos that was a melting point for commerce for the whole of anglophone west Africa before Nigeria.

In your own life time, you have witnessed us build back our own Lagos state-owned bridges, teaching hospitals, deep seaports, export processing free zones, automobile companies, BRT, universities, Eko Atlantic city, etc and our own airport very soon. Remember to tell your children the truth that Lagos state, not FG, built these modern-day infrastructures to replace those we previously handed back to FG but were destroyed out of envy for Lagos.

Lagos was never built with oil money or whatever you call it. If Lagos was built by oil money, oil money should have built Abuja and Niger Delta states capitals should have overtaken Lagos today yet these places have not and are still seriously lagging behind Lagos so much that Ogun state is even taking over them today.

Which bush is this dude from huh
Go and check GDP also before coming here to comment.

Since your state couldn't make the list, na why you dey spew this trash for mouth abi 🤣😂🤣

Who told you that people in those states are over-taxed.

Let me tell you, people in Lagos and Rivers State, I don't know about Kano state are overtaxed than the rest of the states on this list.

Believeintruth:
Dude calm down and stop being stupid. IGR is never an indication of the wealth of a state. The real indicator is GDP, and lIst I, Anambra, and Imo are in the top,p 10, even better than the 5 remaining SW states. In this Eco, any state apart from Lagos, Ri, ver s,, and Kano that reports high IGR is simply overtaxing its citizens.
