I don't mean to sound Tribalistic but the amount of people who lack basic knowledge of economics I have seen from the South West region of Nigeria is alarming

1) Infrastructure doesn't kick start economic growth... It helps sustain or maintain already achieved growth
- I remember when Obi made this statement in 2019 they all laughed at him... Fashola disgracefully made jokes about it... APC government doubled down on projects ( sadly with borrowed money)

Rails, bridges, roads, power plants ETC... How did the economy respond? Lmaooo it tanked

Revenue dropped and debt service increased

Yet Tinubu came, started doing the same thing again even more aggressively... Boom the economy tanked more

Yet millions still believe borrowing to build infrastructure is what we need

Millions of people believe IGR is a measure of productivity or economic growth... No it's not

The only measure of economic growth or productivity are GDP and GDP per capita

Judging economic productivity by IGR is like judging how big a company is by how much salaries the owners pay themselves

Owner of a bigger company can decide to pay himself small money... Either to avoid tax or scarification for company growth

Doesn't mean his company is smaller than the other company with less revenue but owner gets paid 10* more

A state with higher GDP can decide to tax less or not tax at all to allow its people to grow


Honestly this level of economics misinformation in this forum is too much

By the way, saying that a region of over 40 million people need re-education just because a President that you disagree with comes from that region is taking things too far.

The President believes in one approach, you believe in another. So?

What's that got to do with SW people. When did you sample the views of all 40 million of them to come to a conclusion on their views.

Put 4 buses in the state once governed by OBi with nothing to show after ruling for 8 years, put only one bus in the state once governed by Tinubu where there are infrastructure or even anywhere in the SW, and tell people that they are free to take the bus to either location on the condition that they do not return.

The one carrying people from the state where Obi once governed would have made 4 trips, the one from the SW going to Obi's State will still not be full after one week.

All these container economics that you and lamba king are practicing is not what made Europe, Asia and the Americans places that people want to japa to.
