Shocking News: Globacom Lost 66% Of Its Subscribers In May 2024 by chineduace(op): 6:37pm On Oct 29, 2024
Well not shocking for me.
This was going to happen since they continued taking network quality for granted.

According to the available industry subscriber figures available, in May 2024, Globacom lost 66% of the subscribers it had in the previous month of April 2024.

That 66% loss translated to a steep drop from 62 million subscribers in April to 21 million active subscribers in May. And it has kept losing more subscribers since then till the most recent industry records from September 2024.

Mobile Network Subscribers in September 2024
Here is how the four big telcos in Nigeria stand in terms of active subscribers as at September 2024.

MTN: 78 million subscribers
Airtel: 53 million subscribers
Globacom: 19 million subscribers
9mobile: 3.6 million subscribers
While all of the network operators lost some subscribers to the NIN-SIM registration exercise, Glo has lost such a huge number that its situation is not just a result of NIN-SIM issues.

Look at Glo that gave MTN a run for their money is now struggling like 9mobile.

Imagine that a combination of Glo and 9mobile will not give you Airtel.

Please don't put 9mobile and Network in the same sentence, because 9mobile is not a network. It's so bad that asides inside their physical offices, you can't find their network anywhere else......

They had better strip down all their masts and sell them to iron condem.

They're not even trying to take corrections. I once visited thier office and saw how rude and careless a staff was, she spoke very rudely to an elderly man, and the man swore that he will never use glo network again, infact it was so embarrassing on how that man was insulted and ignored at the same time. Glo staffs should do better.

Like its home country, it suffers from lack of upgrade and maintenance.

I am not sure who told them that Nigerians will endure their poor network services because celebrities use them. Instead of to upgrade their services, they'd rather use the money to run ads on every TV channel.

The Nigerian factor. They would rather spend billions on local artists instead of looking for ways to improve their network and packages.

In their mind, all those celebrities fans are automatically their customers, even with their "networkless" network

Glo no be network na...

And if u are using 9mobile network, pls try and port the sim to another network.

Because if anything happens u won't be able to do welcome back on ur 9mobile sim.. I've been going there for the past 3 months to do welcome back, each time they'll say no network for welcome back.

They don't have Sims easily available, that's another problem, wanted to patronize them for promoting local businesses their Sims were hard to find. This is so the know, would still like to add them to the Sim collection for internet providers

See how comfortable 9mobile is with 3million subscribers...

They aren't even putting in any effort to increase their subscribers.

Glo is a disappointment and an under achiever. Imagine dropping it's customer base instead of improving on it.

Their focus is on yeye adverts instead of improving network quality.

They can't also compete on the international market as they are folding up.They stopped operating in Ghana recently and sold assets to another network company.

I am ashamed on Adenuga's behalf. I can't believe he is associated with such failure.

Both glo and 9mobile are a bunch of losers!

Globacom reportedly will appoint Ahmad Farroukh, a former CEO of MTN Nigeria, as its new chief executive. The change would mark the first time for Globacom, as Mike Adenuga has led the company since its launch in August 2003.

I hope they lose ALL and go bankrupt. They seized my line of almost 20 years and have it to another person. I'm right now at First Bank to remove the number from my account. A line I left unused for almost one and half years when I travelled out.

Failed nation!
