Before the new website, I booked Jan 2016 date for I and my toddler. Now I've been trying to reschedule to an earlier date in 2025 but when i try it keeps showing "something went wrong, try again later".
Please can anyone share what I can do right to reschedule to an earlier date?

This is actually normal. You just need to keep checking, and you will definitely get a more recent date.

Please, help me… I can’t login into My Avit account. It’s saying my password has expired, I should create a new one. I did forgot password but I’m not receiving any messages in my mail. Has anyone experienced this?

Good morning, i applied for us visa for my child early this month but i cancelled the appoinment because i used IW and its not supposed to be so, i am trying to redo the appointment but it keeps asking me to pay for fresh visa fees, then when i try to reschedule the initial cancelled IW appointment every time i click post appointment it says slot already filled (Even after the date shows available)

Does anyone have an idea of what’s happening? . For over 3weeks now that I tried booking an appointment, it’s still static on preapproval request processing . I have created ticket, in review for over 1 week . I have chatted , nothing new is coming up . Pls help !

God knows I am getting fed up
I've made my payment since the 2nd of October and I am yet to be able to book an appointment
I've used the Amentum number, it says successful but nothing comes up
I've raised several tickets and they keep closing them and referring me to the 1st ticket I raised concerning this issue
I just called them now and the agent said it is the Bank reference number that has OIS I should use, I used it and it says given the payment receipt something does not exist
What else can I do, please??

Please I submitted my DS-160 in Lagos but i couldn't find an interview date in Lagos so I booked Abuja. Please how do I change my ds 160 on the new visa interview site? Thank you

For now there is no provision for Update of DS 160 on the New platform.

First, thank you to everyone who shared valuable insights and advice about my friend’s situation, which I previously discussed. Her passport has finally been released with a 221(g) to schedule a follow-up interview, which she’ll be doing soon.

Now, I have an issue that directly affects me, and I’m seeking guidance on the best way to handle it. I have a B1/B2 visa interview scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Lagos on November 6, 2024, but I am also set to travel to London on November 19, 2024. Here’s my concern: if I am granted the visa, there’s no guarantee how quickly the embassy will issue it and return my passport—and missing the London trip is not an option.

I tried rescheduling the interview but keep getting an error message, which I’ve attached here. I reached out to support, but they said they couldn’t assist because my receipt is no longer valid (I initially applied for this U.S. visa in October 2022).

Should I forfeit the interview? Is there any other option I could explore?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

So update for dropbox/IW people...
The OIS people has switched back..to only honoring the aviits date, after being turned back at dhl office 2 weeks ago...i booked another appointment for dropoff on ois site, but on getting there...they said the ois and aviits date must match..and i was turned back.

Now on aviits website..it appears they are treating all appointments as the same,..not separating dropbox and consulate interview...tried rescheduling my dropbox appointment..only january 2025 dates are available...
This is mind boggling and quite ridiculous.
In this Tpain regime..wasting over 300k in flights for ordinary dropoff and still being turned back is really heart breaking

During the dhl days, for dropbox, one could simply waltz into dhl office at anytime to dropoff documents.

Other than that, the ois office is cool, no crowd..one can be tru in 30mins.

Can you shed more light of the statement “the ois and aviits date must match”, please? I need help understanding if another scheduling is required after scheduling an IW Dropbox appointment on the AVITS website for any of the Lagos and Abuja locations. Thank you.

If it is a physical interview at the embassy - do not forfeit, attend it and if you are approved let the officer know that you have a UK trip the following week. In some countries like Canada, they will permit you to submit your passport when you return from your trip.

IW, on the other hand, is a big gamble, you will drop off at OIS and there is no guarantee when your passport will be returned. My mum was lucky, she dropped off on Oct 7 and was able to pick up on Oct 15 but many have not had the same experience.

The AVITS/OIS migration is a hot mess!

I WENT TO OIS @ idowu Taylor TO PICKUP TODAY, Apparently, many people had gone to DHL and were redirected to OIS,

First thing, go to OIS and book an appointment on appointment.oisservices.com, then go early enough, when I got there, they told us to write our names and passport number in a list, then they would check if the passport is actually ready, afterwhich you would be allowed inside and wait for them to SORT AND FIND your passport.

It was actually hectic, got there 10am and left around 2.45pm, just plan the whole day,

I actually didn't pay the 48k, don't know why because I saw some others before me pay so I was already prepared to pay, but I wasn't asked, maybe because time was far spent.

Were you able to get the visa and eventually travel? How long did it take and what did you eventually do to get it?

I’m supposed to be traveling this weekend and have still not received any update on picking my passport. I went to check in OIS today and they said they haven’t received it yet. Any advice?

It is usually out in 5 working days all things been equal. For some it takes longer. Just pray everything moves fast.

One more question, please. On the previous scheduling system, it was possible to add several applicants under a single account. Is that same in the new (AVITS) system or do I have to create a separate account for my other parent?

I don't know much about this new system but from what I've read, it is separate account. You can also check on the embassy website. There should be a guidline on visa application process.

Can i attend the interview like that?

Only go to the OIS on the day of your AVITS appointment date , you can book OIS on same date but they don’t really ask for the OIS appointment but on the AVITS, they currently have a list everyday based on the people who booked appointment on AVITS website

Log into ur gt acct website .u can print the cgi logo receipt again from there

It appears you migrated yourself from the old system...and didnt wait for the system/avits to migrate you.....

If so..only possible way out is to open a ticket and send screenshots of your old iw date from the old portal......or have you tried rescheduling a new appointment entirely??.if i recall correctly..thats what i did..after i was migrated
