The doctor came by 11 and checked her, and said its on 3cm while it was on 4cm yesterday. He said they don't want to force the labor as it will cause serious problem if it falls along the way.
So he said will should go home since we have been in the hospital for four days now, even though she is on heavy pain in her waiste and back..
It is the only general hospital we have around here.

Hello nairalanders, please I need urgent advice..

My wife was due for delivery on November 29 plus or minus 2 weeks. But about four days ago, she started having pains round her waist and back. The pain become severe and I had to take her to the hospital where the doctor said she is up for labor.. the pain is just there and nothing is happening, they say they won't inject.her as they are not too sure, because if they inject her and it happens not to be labor, then it might get worse.

She is tired and week, the worst is that they are not even checking her, when they finally did, they won't say any word to us.

Since four days we arrived, they said it was 4cm or just 4 something, don't really know what they call it. Up till now is still on the 4 and the pain won't go.

She has not been to toilet for the four days.

Please please please.. the moderators of this forum, I am just sitting and typing this hoping it will be taking to the front page.

We want to leave but they say the doctor must come first, and the doctor comes by 11.

But they are supposed to do something to relief her from the pain, also to give u detail explanation.

Abeg take that woman to a better hospital.. God will provide . Coz I inferred that she is one of this yeye private...

Don't listen to the USELESS nurses.
Why would they NOT update you about her condition.

Get a car and take your wife to a BETTER hospital.
If ANYBODY tries to stop you, ELBOW them in their stupid face.

DON'T leave your wife in a hospital where her life is treated as a SIDE HUSTLE.

There is a time to be gentle and reasonable.
And there is a time for MADNESS and VIOLENCE.
This is a time for the LATTER.

Don't stay in a place where the Doctor is always ABSENT and the Nurses who are present NEGLECT your wife who is in AGONY and IGNORE you when you ask for updates.

Understand that they'll continue to BILL you for the hospital stay while they treat you and your wife like TRASH.

Calm down. Your wife will be fine. First thing first, she needs all the strength to push when the time comes. So she has to actually eat and go to toilet. Buy pineapple, blend and give her to drink, this helps to hasten labour. Also out her on a vegetable diet for now to ease her metabolism so she can use the toilet. What she has is inactive labour. When it dilates to between 5cm-6cm, it becomes active. So for now you can either decide to retain her on admission if you can bear the cost or take her home. Cheers.

Is that her first scan result? The first scan usually gives the similar or correct EDD.

The medical staff's nonchalancy is a cause for concern, do make effort to get her out of that place this morning and take her to another hospital, where you all would feel cared for.

Tor children might come earlier atimes.Moreover a scan gives an estimate and its not a final determinant. Just make sure she gets to eat and gets enough strength. Weakness shouldn't be in her dictionary for now.

Yes , I was expecting my baby in December 24 but I gave birth in November, 25.
Please take her to better hospital, four days in labour is too much, you don't have to be gentle with them, arrange a cab and take her to a better hospital anybody that wants to stop you give them blow in there eyes, your wife is between life and death.

Thank you. Base on your experience, is water supposed to come out of her body? Nothing has come out of her body, but online symptoms I get says water should come out of her body. The pain is just like that of labor but nothing has come out of her body

I need help

I'm not a professional, but speaking from my aunt's experience, delayed labour is dangerous. If it so happens that what started 4 days ago was labour, your baby may be in distress now.

I suggest that you seek a second opinion. Visit another healthcare facility.

You are risking the life of your wife and the baby. Take her to a good hospital and let them perform a C section on her immediately. If u keep delaying ur wife will soon loose strength.... Same as the baby. At that time, na sorry and take heart thwm go dey tell u

It's quite painful knowing that the child could be in distress by now!! Even your wife may not have enough strength to push when the time finally comes due to the nonchalant attitudes of these so-called nurses and doctor!! Some of them are usually like that; don't be surprised.

Please, call one or two persons (friends or relatives) and arrange a cab while you are still there. The moment the cab comes, let them all come inside the hospital and move that woman out.

If the hospital reason for not wanting you to move her out is because of unsettled bills, try settle them before your people come. As they arriving , you are moving your wife and be ready to be violent( violence may be necessary at this point even though that's not who you really are) This is a matter of life and death; labour is not meant to last this long as it could be dangerous for both mother and child.

Married women are really suffering. Pregnancy in one of the quickest ways to an early grave, and I admire women that embark on this journey.

As for the OP, your wife is dying and instead of taking her to a better hospital, you are waiting for a doctor who is probably having a nice time with his partner. Move her from that hospital asap before you regret it.
