Nigerians are quite funny. Before they were complaining of paying for darkness. Give us light and we are ready to pay for it, that was the chorus. So why the complaint now? Nazgul:Abia state now have 24 hours power supply and it’s free of charge. You might want to relocate there. |

nairalanda1:power is costly quite alright but why the estimated billing? The discos purposely don't want consumers to be metered.... Even if I'm in band A, I should decide on how to conserve my power consumption and budget accordingly. They should do the right thing. Imagine going to buy fuel at a filling station and they charge a bike man same amount for filling his tank as a Corolla. Does it make sense? |

The problem with this increased tarriff is numerous. Power supply didn't improve and Tinubu is paying much more subsidy on power than the previous administration - even after adjusting for inflation. Then why the increase in tariff if power supply didn't improve and subsidy is still being paid? |

CodeTemplarr:who are the "we" and how were the "we" subsidizing consumption and idleness? what is wrong if people buy two litres to watch BBN and telemundo series? what were you using your 2litres to watch? is it what people used their two litres to watch that previously prevented the use of power for production? will the power for production be used for free? |

nairalanda1:you're still living with your parents and have not earned a living to support your own weight and existence. You're justifying 300k estimated billing for a single shop on Nairaland when you are not even responsible for the food in your stomach. Only Nairaland and Nigeria can produce kids like you. Social media addict without a job. |

Arostar2023:And 40 percent of consumers don't pay for power at all, and anytime disconnection is attempted, they use violence on the disco people. And most Nigerians cheer Result, paying customer gets ripped off for the discos to survive financially and offset losses from people not paying for services |

Estimated billing is a huge scam that those involved needs to be killed... This is how exactly estimated billing is done in Bayelsa State....... It doesn't matter if you're out to work or in the house, it's always a constant. At the specified time, the PHED officials go to the transformer within each location, measure the power supply that was passed through the meter of the transformer and arbitrarily prepare the estimated bills for that month. This process is done every month. If you let them come into your house and they see the appliances you have they will tell you that's it's even cheaper, what they were giving you originally. Even if someone was to be indoors in his hours and would not go out , how many appliances would be using electricity constant for longer durations apart from fridge/freezer? How many hours can one watch television now that one can do a lot with his android phone? How many hours does one have to use the pressing iron for clothes? How many hours do one use washing machine and how frequent do you even use it? How many hours do you use your hot plate for heavy cooking which is regular except you dey run a restaurant? The list is endless..... But this scammers cease not to amaze us when they come with bills. Why would anyone pay bills for something not seen or even used? Though I know some people do not like to pay but how about those of us who are paying for things not seen used. There has been no light in the entire State for more than 3 months and PBAT is not aware because they said PHED is owned by a former president but the North did not see light for just 10 days but a Presidential order was given and it was rectified. |
