Well , whatever you think of my job status, power does cost money to make and to supply.
Donald Trump is still conversing for energy reduction to save American manufacturing.

Your minimum wage is 70k (although you still live rent-free and eat free food from your parents) and monthly energy is 250k.

Is that how a country grows?

Are you cursed with the spirit of idiocy or are you born with brain lesion?

On your realm of senseless, you forgot what would jhappen if all customers decide to withdraw. From the fraudulent estimated billings bloody satanic conformist ....quote author=nairalanda1 post=132697289]Not surprised.....the fact is after years of thinking power was cheap, we are waking up to the cold reality.

The fact is, if we want power, we got to pay for it at high prices. But most of us don't want to because we won't be able to afford the prices needed to kick start the sector.[/quote]

You really should not let the fact that petrol is expensive bother you so much.

After all, I don't let the fact that a Ferrari and Porsche are out of my reach financially annoy me too much. It is how it is.

You're insanely clever. One thing kept popping up in this article: "estimated billing". You're obviously as mischievous as Tinubu. Pay pay pay, but no regards for operational standards or transparency. In the countries you referenced, is estimated billing the core of their revenue base? What's the instrument of determining who pays what, on each band?

I didn't need to look far for your usual gaslighting and lies. Electricity bill is more expensive in Nigeria than Ghana. Even China and Singapore.

how does the high cost of power allow need for production?

Won't that drive cost of product, services and manufacturing up?
It will drive production cost up but also free up some energy for producers. It is positive and negative

Some wicked politicians will take them serious and make decisions based on those whapped arguments...

No need to get angry over the fact that a kWh of power costs over 160 naira to make.
yea it cost over 10k to make.

In Egypt light bill is less than 50 naira KWH . Your apc loyalist need to be stoned to death.

The lies and gaslighting is out of hand

Omo... some of you are irredemable. Na just to dey curse yoy dey my mind. Do you think this is about the cost? Dummy! This is about billing you for what you didn't use.

The article is about people on estimated billings that are asked to pay for light they didn't use. Can you categorically say that running a fan and fridge from 8am-7pm(still considering hours of power outages daily) will result to one paying 30k per month?

Those that requested disconnection asked to be supplied with meters before they can start paying again.

What you should be asking instead of the foolishness you displayed up there is to ask DISCO to distribute meters to all bulidings and households. Not wailing that electricity is expensive. No one ever said it's cheap! The issue is its unavailable and people are being asked to pay hundred of thousands for it.

This giant of Africa population is filled with poor people, yet they brag that they are the richest. Electricity is not cheap, let us stop complaining and get down to work with our brains and abilities.
Nigeria is an extremely poor country. Stop fooling yourself. Nothing rich about Nigeria

Nigerians are quite funny. Before they were complaining of paying for darkness. Give us light and we are ready to pay for it, that was the chorus.

So why the complaint now?

Abia state now have 24 hours power supply and it’s free of charge.

You might want to relocate there.
most of you on this site are just plain uneducated and stuppid like you.

Well they are classified here because most Nigerians can't pay for power at market prices
Nigeria's electric market is overrated, Nigerians are just being exploited. How does it make sense to the brain that some people would be supplied power less than 10 hours a day and would pay less, and another class would have access to same power for upto 18 hours a daily for an extraneous amount.....its doesn't make sense to me, they cannot even sustain the promised 18 to 24 hours, meaning they cannot even supply the whole country power, hence, to be smart and make money they tag some nigerians as unable to pay for power and tag some other ables to py just to me money for themselves.....what a country n govt....i wish power had the dynamism of the telecom sector, things wouldn't be like this, we would have had a very healthy competition
