Winnin009:That's eye opening. Although I can't call it a law as long as the nerc act wasn't amended. Na Just "social Media Declaration", according to our prison officials . |

I am on Band A and I spend 1500 for 7.1 units every day. That is N45k per month on Electricity. Tinubu has finished this country. |

Pascal9:what are you saying? We pay more than most African countries. Even those with 24/7 light. No country in the world as poor as Nigeria taxes her citizens as much as this. None! |

nairalanda1:You seem to fall under the small percentage who do not understand that the power industries are scandalous. Them lot requesting disconnections are on teh estimated billing circle, Why wont they request to be disconnected .All they need do is go to prepaid meters then let us see how the so called Discos are going to make any money. No light you pay no bills, that's the way it should go, there is no way on earth where PHCN supplied power was going to be dearer than Generators adn Solar. |

| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by LegendHero(m): 12:17pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
Flipmac:Disconnect the light and use generator. Useless Nigerians with entitlement mentality. How much will you spend on generator fuel for 18hrs if light everyday for 30 days? |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by Ray07(m): 12:26pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
nairalanda1:So how about those that can afford it. It fair paying for darkness right when the infrastructure is not in place to deliver? Which Disco do you work for sir ? |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by Flipmac(m): 12:27pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
LegendHero:Shut up. I spent 4 years in South Africa and electricity was cheaper there. The extra charge is not to make improvements, it is instead being looted by a few people, but fools like you will never know. The state governor lives in my estate. If you see the kind of cars the kids of some naija politicians drive you will stop defending rubbish. Mumu. |

| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by Ray07(m): 12:31pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
maasoap:Is there even anything like band B again. They have migrated literally everyone to their imaginary band A. I only see light from 7 PM to 5 AM on band A while other locations also on band A get at least 22 hours of supply. Talk about selective, e reach everywhere this shitty country. |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by nairalanda1(m): 12:32pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
erico2k2:Okey dokey....you can help Nigerians by setting up your own corruption free power company that would charge N10 per unit. Good morning, comrade Ivanov. |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by Ray07(m): 12:38pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
nairalanda1:We have been over this sir. Get things straight before setting your price. You want to charge premium on dilapidated equipment you know can't satisfy everyone. We now get light from 7 PM to 5 AM now on band A. How about artisans, would they still pay for using darkness to work. I don't blame them, na the calamity parading himself as president I blame. |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by nairalanda1(m): 12:42pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
Ray07:Will you let your customers set your price for you? Also, where do you think the money is going to come from to fix the dilapidated things? You guys better stop being abusive, and patronizing and face cold hard reality. Nothing to do with politics, apc and pdp, and everything to do with the fact that we have been underpaying for power for decades in the name of we are poor....and now we live with the results. |

CodeTemplarr:Some people say Nigeria has never done anything for them in their lifetime. These are the same set of people enjoying subsidies from education to electricity to petrol to dollars to pilgrimage etc. from the day they were born. Yet they act as ingrates. Even those that collected cheap dollars through form A from CBN to pay for tuition fees abroad are cursing Nigeria as a country. Yes you can curse the politician but not the country. Politicians ruin the country. Now that Nigeria is not paying for subsidies again, all hell let loose. |

nairalanda1:So where's the balance? What's the percentage of Nigerians that can afford the light? |
| Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by nairalanda1(m): 1:19pm On Nov 02, 2024 |
Mitsurugi:Would you own a disco that sold power at 10 naira per kwh? Be honest. |

ceejayluv:That one sef enter. If commissioner of police can issue order and men on street do the exact opposite, wetin con be NEPA. The only body i detest less than them is NPF! However, do you think the minister of power has the authority to instruct the NERC on power related activities? Cause, I think, if I'm not mistaken, we as a nation has already officially moved to prepaid metering. That was one of the reasons why the distribution arm was sold to seven private holders or so. Now, the onus falls on the DISCOs to fill the vacuum and distribute meters to customers that they collect money from. See, it's simple. A simple desktop app can collect all the data of current customers on estimated and add the cost of the meter to the bill overtime... |
