My argument ON THIS THREAD has nothing to do with business. I don't know why you're coming up with that. Businesses also fail in the USA, Japan and Australia.

Black Africans cannot independently generate collective, self governed living spaces with high HDI. My evidence CANNOT be countered. I'm not writing about Black Britons or Black Americans, both of whom are far richer than BLACK AFRICANS born in Africa and in any case don't control any nation state. It's a simple point that anyone who respects data can affirm. Black Africans are an inert specie of humanity that can only survive by non-productive exploitation of their own people in their own countries.

It's very interesting that Igbo people resident in the USA and UK can protest to high heavens about discrimination against Blacks, but can't do ANYTHING about Yoruba discrimination against the Igbo in the last elections. Igbo people were FLOGGED and driven away from voting centers in Lagos. I've not seen anything remotely similar in the current USA elections or earlier this year in the UK. So what's the angst about?

Ever heard of the Apo 6? This group of 6 Igbo traders were killed for absolutely no legal reason by a team of Nigeria Policemen in Abuja. Somehow only Christian members of the police squad were convicted, but the leader of the team, ASP Danjuma who actually instigated the incident and gave the order to kill them, was let out of custody and disappeared till this moment. No Igbo person has led massive protest to do anything about it. Even UK citizen Nnamdi Kanu is still in custody under Tinubu. Yet Igbo people are on the internet protesting about anti-Black discrimination in the US & UK, countries with the RICHEST national group of Negroes in the world.

Buhari's supporters massacred a group of NYSC workers in Northern Nigeria during the 2011 elections, 50 to 70% of the victims were Yoruba. There was no attempt to protest or demand accountability until a few months ago, only after a Yoruba man became President.

Here's an army massacre of Shiite protesters in Abuja in 2018. There was also ANOTHER massacre that resulted in the death of 400 Shiites. They were buried in a mass grave and NO ONE has been charged till date.

Have you heard any protests by Nigerians abroad about this incident? No, they're busy agitating for DEI jobs in the US & UK.

Let me repeat:

Black Africans sold their own into slavery and now compete with the descendants of those slaves for the slop left by the slave masters. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE, this is bottom level human behavior!!! The descendants of those slaves now live better, have higher HDI and are richer than those who sold them into slavery. This has to be the greatest moral karmaic conundrum of human history. That's what I'm on about, nothing else

Good Luck to Nigerians

@RodgersAkpafu

Thank you so much for your posts. I really appreciate them. They have been uplifting and inspiring. I learnt a lot, no lies. Yes, there are a lot of good institutions and structures we have built in Nigeria - which translates to we can replicate them on a wider scale. The aim should be to do the same on a national scale. I REALLY want to see black societies become wealthy and this has to be from Africa. It would be a thing of pride, especially to blacks elsewhere such as Barbados, Ecuador, Brazil, Suriname, the US, Europe etc. I see how the Chinese are very proud here and walk with their heads high because they know what they are made of and their spending power.

I also loved how people lambasted Paul because it was an over-reaction. However, I am not surprised he came with the per capita rhetoric. To shut his mouth for good would be to build our own VC/PE community just as the Chinese have done

I understand your explanation about NOI's residence using the FESTAC example. While it the LGA is Yoruba dominated as it is a Yoruba state, there are some streets/neighbourhoods that are exclusively Igbo. This translates to NOI living in black majority area, although in a white area.

Thank you for your time and to Goke7 as well.

P.S. Mr Ibe invested in Nigeria but the socialist system got his fingers hurt. So, I understand where he comes from.
Damn right
I appreciate your posts too
I often look out for them
Even though we don't agree wholesale

We have more common ground than both of us realise

About the bolded
That's one of the most pleasurable things I as well as those of us who were involved in pressing Paul's neck
His brain don reset and he steers clear from such topics. His mumu attempt to broke shame us as a country even made the assault worse
Like I told you before, it's our hobby to press white supremacists neck, and it's something I enjoy
BTW, to answer your question, United Capital is an investment bank up and coming in Nigeria, they are doing great things and they have a future (we were some of the early investors and it has been an amazing ride so far with huge dividend loot and stellar capital appreciation over the years )

More United Capitals springing up will help with our funding gap issues but most are private companies, and if the steam keeps up, something great will happen in that space
Access Bank is also expanding into the Asian Market from what I hear
Now thats a Nigerian bank ran by Nigerians expanding into the four corners of the world, cos of their expanding international operations.
Wigwe of blessed memory had the can do spirit and did not subscribe to "blacks are less than" thinking

Yes I really hope one day we get our acts together and change the narrative for us as black people.
That will be the best image launderer for us

Until then, we hold our heads high, refuse to accept second class status designation, and achieve the best we can achieve
You never know who you are inspiring, as a young black man may just be in the corner looking and watching you

To be honest, that has been my bone of contention - suddenly developing the knack for human rights in a distant land but couldn't develop the same in your dominant environment which has greater ills than the distant land.

No wonder African Americans are vulgar towards Nigerians on the Internet and are very proud of their origins to the extent they ensure people know there is a difference between us and them. I can't blame them. No one wants to associate with poverty.

The answer to your first paragraph is, again referring to my frequent example of the South Asians (Indians and Pakis esp), the fact that your country of origin is a shytehole does not mean that you shouldn't demand to be treated fair in the country you currently live in, esp if that is the norm

India is a proper shytehole
Bad toilet hygiene /infrastructure, overcrowded, high underclass, they are the ones competing with Nigeria on who is the Poverty Capital of the World
YET
They still demand fair treatment in the west (at least in the UK)
They are still making their mark in their own individual ways (getting educated, opening businesses,, getting into politics, all that, becoming CEOs and all that )
in fact, Indian tutorials are a thing in the UK,

Why am I saying all of these ?
The argument that owww because your country of origin is a shytehole therefore you should "sempe" wherever you go to can never make sense to me
Its like saying the Cuban dissidents that fled Cuba, because they are now in America they shouldn't be involved with, or be vocal about the politics in America, afterall, Cuba is a communist state

You see how ridiculous that sounds ?
To improve our image like you rightly said, we need to have some self respect , and work hard to improve our fortunes

On a side note, I watched the budget presentation in Westminster
One thing I picked which got me so upset is that while India has stopped collecting aid from the UK, there is a budget provision for Africa in 2024 undecided
Immediately I saw that I remembered your post and just shook my head

And to your second paragraph
AAs are antagonistic to Nigerians for a mix of reasons

1. False sense of superiority from their side

2. Cooning behaviour of many Nigerians, AAs accuse Nigerians of not being self aware and always aligning with white supremacy, case ib point, the many Nigerians on the trunp train, and how they run their mouths about systemic issues they don't understand, like DEI

3. Misplaced aggression.
That "we" sold "them"
who is the "we"?
If they picked a history book, they will have a better understanding of how the Slave Trade thing really panned out, and have a balanced view of what happened, as opposed to just believing whatever

When I knee some AAs can be stupid is when they were accusing a Zimbabwean of his ancestors selling theirs
Zimbabwe?

Obviously they are undocumented - what's your point tho?
That the obvious campaign issue has always been undocumented migrants

You have made strong points with very good examples. Well done. I see things from your side. Going forward, I will be more circumspect in my thoughts about the whole thing - demanding rights in developed countries even when one's homeland is nothing to write home about.

On the bold, well well well. There we go again. grin cheesy wink
