On your realm of senseless, you forgot what would jhappen if all customers decide to withdraw. From the fraudulent estimated billings bloody satanic conformist ....quote author=nairalanda1 post=132697289]Not surprised.....the fact is after years of thinking power was cheap, we are waking up to the cold reality.

I'll leave this post i made earlier

The fact is, if we want power, we got to pay for it at high prices. But most of us don't want to because we won't be able to afford the prices needed to kick start the sector.
There will be more power for productive customers.
You're not that important

You're insanely clever. One thing kept popping up in this article: "estimated billing". You're obviously as mischievous as Tinubu. Pay pay pay, but no regards for operational standards or transparency. In the countries you referenced, is estimated billing the core of their revenue base? What's the instrument of determining who pays what, on each band?
In countries do ppl attack Nepa staff when they want to disconnect power thieves?
You dent want to pay but you want to consume. Idiocy

Omo... some of you are irredemable. Na just to dey curse yoy dey my mind. Do you think this is about the cost? Dummy! This is about billing you for what you didn't use.

The article is about people on estimated billings that are asked to pay for light they didn't use. Can you categorically say that running a fan and fridge from 8am-7pm(still considering hours of power outages daily) will result to one paying 30k per month?
yes, go try am with meter
Those that requested disconnection asked to be supplied with meters before they can start paying again.

What you should be asking instead of the foolishness you displayed up there is to ask DISCO to distribute meters to all bulidings and households. Not wailing that electricity is expensive. No one ever said it's cheap! The issue is its unavailable and people are being asked to pay hundred of thousands for it.

but I think the estimated billings is still too much. 18,310.79 is what I receive, total due is close to 200k and there is no month I don't pay on the postpaid. Sometimes I paid 7k,10k,12k. Even 10k twice in a month. Cap unit is 302@56.88

what great about the news, are you not aware "SUBSIDY " is the only welfare that get to the Nigerians directly from govt
so you want awoof to continue forever
Awoof de run Bele o
Since govt withdraws these subsidies what is the impact, what are the benefits relative to reality
you're receiving sense
These Nigeria were all that Merits, benefits, and theories we read in economic textbooks would never work so of the bloody set of thieves that call themselves our leader
you didn't read those theories well
Subsidy withdrawn off electricity and fuel where are the proceeds today, of what impact/utility are the withdrawn funds to the economic or nation building
sense receipt
Since removal of subsidy on both,
1. we habe had more national grid collaspes

2. we have witnessed back to back fuel scarcity despite the high price
have you wondered why or you just want to rant
Tinubu revenue drive would have worth it if eventually those funds will be put to nation building But they rather loot it .. as Nigerians what are we really sacrificing for,is it worth it
you're sacrificing to pass your neighbourtribe

Winnin009:
Apply for meter you say? That would make it seem as tho the meter isn't compulsory. It should be mandated and distributed to all houses currently been supplied power(whether you apply or not). It's not rocket science. The meters are literally in their offices collecting dust but they intentionally bottle neck the process to continue this estimated billings.

See, when i was about to move into my new house at agric ikd, almost ten years back, ikedc had officials going house to house to register people(houses and businesses) ahead of the meter distribution. Till now, it's one story or the other. Finally, last year, they came out openly after we constantly requested and told us to pay 150k or so for it.

So, that thing you said about pending applications; it's intentional. They want to sell the meters for outrageous prices despite the previous administration asking them to distribute it to all buildings and what not. Also, it asked customers not to pay until the discos bring the prepaid meter to you.
how is 150k outrageous. Have you priced the meter on amazon? Please do
As it stands, you're bereft of knowledge as to how these guys play "politics" with the meters. Go with money and see that wait list of people that applied disappear in an instant.
Re: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by MIKOLOWISKA: 7:51pm On Nov 02, 2024
tete7000:
Before you ask people to pay, you give them meter. It is criminal to charge people estimated bills. If people have their prepaid meters installed, they will be able to manage how they use power. It is that simple.
But it's not criminal to bypass meter and threaten Nepa staff that comes to disconnect? They should be giving you free electricity?

MIKOLOWISKA:
how is 150k outrageous. Have you priced the meter on amazon? Please do
The equipment was meant to be distributed to customers, DISTRIBUTED NOT SOLD! That's why is outrageous and apparently, it's actually more than 150 we were asked to pay.

Dummy! Tell that to the animals that you worship that have been spending billions on power generation but with no power generated. The national grid collapsing every other day like it has no one looking over it. Indeed doing the same thing and expecting different outcomes.

If you weren't a dummy like I earlier stated, you would know that this is about paying for what you don't use. It's about NEPA's refusal to distribute meters.

What's crazy is that you online stooges are living in even worse conditions but your standards are so low that you feel you doing well enough to do this crappy job. It's sad! I genuinely feel bad for you.

You stupidly think maximum wage will be paid for minimum effort .
This topic is beyond you
You're struggling to sound reasonable yet you keep sounding like someone with an IQ of minus 10.

So you're blaming the people for the increment in electricity that's not even stable?

You also blame them for the hike in food stuffs when the government you spend your life defending cannot protect farmers from bandits. Then you have the issue of the border which was closed. And when it became obvious that local production wasn't enough for the population they refused to open it.

You also blame the people for the increasing insecurity across the country. From the east to the west to the north. Despite the billions allocated to the ministry of defense, Nowhere is safe. Innocent Nigerians are being kidnapped and killed on a daily basis.

You also blame the people for the hike in fuel prices. When your president removed fuel subsidy without proper plans in place to cushion the aftermath of the removal.

You also blame the people for the exuberant custom duty on imported cars, electronics... Etc. Thus making it almost impossible for the common man to afford.

You also blame the people for the mass exit of foreign companies, thereby plunging thousands into unemployment.

You also blame struggling families who can't feed themselves for critizing a government that gives them nothing aside taxing them to their deaths.

Even the buhari we all criticized, things wasn't like this during his administration.

I don't blame you tho. Like I said. The average Tinubu's supporter shares the same size of brain with that of a hummingbird.

It is satanic asking consumers of electricity of developing nation to pay N200,000 per month for electricity bills.
how much should they pay
You will not buy gas or cement or hire workers
You will just get free electricity
Why don't you set up your power company then give ppl free light since you're not satanic
Why should people even receive estimated billing to begin with?
cos you were chasing Nepa men with cutlass when they came to disconnect ppl who were not paying, now you will all pay for not chastising them then. You thought you will get away with free light forever but now hunter has become hunted
It is criminal on the part of the distribution companies. Allow customers to buy meters from third party vendors, or supply them directly. It is 2024 for heavens sake!!!
ppl still bypassing never in 2024 so dunno why you're mentioning year of our lord like it should mean something
Here in Canada, for 24hrs light, with heavy usage in a month, for a three bedroom, you won’t be paying more than N140,000 and you can easily afford it with the minimum wages that you earn in a typical 8 hour shift in a day. I mean, the money you earn in 7 hours(a days work) can conveniently pay your electricity bill for the whole month.
are Nigerians doing productive work during 7 hrs like in Canada. You can't pick and choose o. Talk am finish. What is your company's revenue divided by employees. What is Nigeria's? Or you think it's just by coming to office for 8 hrs producing nothing?
The exploitation in Nigeria is mind boggling, and their supporters are also shocking .
only exploiter get exploited
