also, simply having characters go through loss doesn't automatically make them great characters...

Jayce and Jinx are well written so far tho...

Vi despite being one of the main characters is nothing but a badass sister who cares and wants to find her sister...

I expect more from her in the last 3 episodes

4 days to go and today, I'll like to revisit the architecture and environment design of Arcane.

The contrasts between Piltover and The Undercity. Even when Piltover is shown during the night, you still can't mistake it for The Undercity with the clear differences in their aesthetics.

😅. They have been very deliberate the title of each episode in the most brilliant way. They try to make a play on the words to euphemize and satirize a bit, what the episode would be about. Episode 4 was named "Cent'Anni" which literally an Italian phrase to say, "I wish you a 100 years and more" or "I wish you long life", but that was the episode that Sofia gassed her whole family 💀.

They have strayed very far away from the comics all season long, as they have basically just stripped down the comic character to thier own version, so i feel they wanted at least one solid connection to the comics before they go out. When Oz leaves his brother so that they could go see a movie 💀, he goes home for the promised Oedipus date with his mom, and he picks his favorite movie, "Top Hat", as a direct reference to how the character appears in the comics, with the show inkling that he got the inspiration for his outfit from his favorite movie, and i believe that was what they were going for with that episode title.

Well they got me. When I saw that reference with his favourite show I was like "hell yea, he's wearing it now" complete with the monocle and umbrella. But it never happened.

Another thought, that bomb will surely get the Bat's attention or atleast Gordon's attention won't it?

A bomb that shatters the entire Gotham Overflow tunnel, you'd think will certainly get the attention of the Caped Crusader but then again Matt Reeves hinted sometime ago that we would probably not see his version of Batman again, till The Batman II in 2025, and that although the show takes place in Batman's universe but they wanted the focus to be on Oz. But i feel, a Batman appearance would have been an all timer tv moment, and they missed a huge opportunity if at the end of the last episode, he doesn't show up, at least the little premise from the final episode doesn't suggest so...

And that was IGN angst with the show and why they rated it so low. They felt The Penguin is not such an intricate character to deserve a whole show about, and a Batman appearance would have elevated the show and hidden the lack of depth of Oz.

But i say Fvck them!, Collin Farrell as Oz was one of the most memorable thing from "The Batman" (2022), and it would have been criminal not to have him reprise the role. Critics sometimes can be so up-tight for no reason, just enjoy greatness and forget about the little inadequacies ffgs. No matter how the last episode pans out, This was a GOOD SHOW! 👌🏿

It's very interesting but not on the levels of Arcane if we are to add other ingredients like story arc, character building, incredible VFX, better plot; in short, Arcane is heads and shoulders above BES.

You'd gradually see the emotional processes most of them went to get to the point they were..
