The Federal Government has withdrawn the treason charge it entered against minors who participated in the recent #EndBadGovernance protest that was held across the country.

The government officially took over the case file on Tuesday through the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, and notified the Federal High Court in Abuja of its decision to discontinue the case against the protesters.

The application for discontinuance, which was moved by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, DPPF, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, was anchored on provisions of sections 174(1), (b) and (c) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, and 108 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015.

I just read this part of the constitution...that means the AGF has right to take over and review and discontinue any case that is still in court...without the permission of even the President.

Yet, we have 1001 inmates still awaiting trial in Nigerian overpopulated prisons.

It's majorly the overzealousness of our security agencies who don't know their job but rather use their powers to oppress and this also shows the dysfunctional justice system we run in this country...who sent them to go arrest children.....the IGP or the DPP in charge of that case needs to be sacked......some people really need to be fired for this....that's how they harrass poor innocent souls and if you can't part with money they keep you in prison.

They have learn in the hard way. Anytime they hear the word Protest they will run away. This boys will never forgive Peter Obi and Tinubu because both has a role in there bn to prison.
