I don't have any particular hope, as in the quick ways Nigerians make money in Nigeria but I am convince that, I am not moving an inch out of this country untill I make the money I need to live trough this life with my family. I no fit spend 25 to 30 million to go dey wash plate for another man country.....God will bless me right here on Nigeria. I will stay and wait that day when politicians who have kept this country in this rot will be running and praying that the ground should open and swallow them. |

OgaTheTop2:Oga it seems like you've never left Nigeria. They'll do everything to extort money from travelers especially first time travelers. I remember my first time. Luckily, I met a Nigerian/British who had a British passport and schooled me to stand my ground and not give a dime. Also, I only had dollars with me so imagine how much I would've parted with. This is a shitthole country and our travel system is messed up. If you disagree you're either deceiving yourself or have no travel experience. |

You're very correct but unfortunately the idiots supporters of rifnu and apc won't agree with you, they will rather call you iPob member or obedient. In this country, coming out to protest over your infringed rights is seen as treason weather you're a minor or an adult, it is straight to prison. ![]()

|

cococandy:I tire for Nigerians o. It's actually a good article and very timely as many japarians within the past five years especially prior to Covid-19 intend to visit home. The expenses are fair enough and serve as a guide to others depending on their lifestyles. |

18. Saw many job ads but noticed Nigerians don’t value small, menial jobs. Because it is slavery, you are tied down for 8am to 6pm daily only to be paid at a rate of N1000 per day. N30k minimum wage. |

That’s the reality in nigeria. Quite sad when you talked about your friends. I know & have the typical asking types but I also have a few who understand friendship is more than financial benefits. As for spending on hotels, checkpoints, transportation. I understand you can afford it & was concerned about security but you overspent big time especially in lag and Oyo. Seems you ran it alone. Ride sharing is way above most nigerians pay grade nowadays but you could easily have hired. Plenty of secured hotels in Lagos and Oyo that don’t cost up to that and still maintain decorum and 24hrs electricity. I can’t pay 40k and expect the light to go off or get nonsense water. Most are hidden in quiet estates & not popular, was surprised to meet house of assembly members in an unassuming hotel in Ibadan. Very affordable too. And absolutely no one would ask for a dime. Use google reviews next time or ask sure guys, Try and avoid too high and too low prices, they tend to be shitty from experience. Too popular/yahoo boys hotels also fall into that category. As for checkpoints, Carry a street wise person follow body next time. Only truck drivers/transporters give out that much. My uncle in US doesn’t give a dime whenever he comes around. |

OgaTheTop2:Big fracking lies. I have never paid any government official in any airport in Nigeria. You wanna search me? Bring it on. I am always legit. Seeing the amount of money you spent on this and that, one can say you went there to show off. Logically, you had a lot of luggage filled with things you could easily pick up at Shoprite. E kaabo. 5.7 million naira to show off. You better go back to your job, whatever that is. |

OgaTheTop2:chairman wetin u dey talk? About 5 years ago when I travelled to UK for holidays and came back in abuja. All travellers were forced by customs to go into a room and open their bags. I told them "nothing to declare" and they say "my friend, go in there and open your bags". Opened, just clothes and shoes and they say I should give them money. From N5,000 when ended at 2k. When I travelled and came back 2 years ago abuja airport, surprisingly customs passed me without anything, and I was so happy. Just for NDLEA standing there where my bag was scanned to stop me and told me though they knew I was clean but I had to drop something for them else they would open my bags and waste me. Gave them 3k. |
