Grid collapse is now a lucrative business. Unpatriotic citizens just full everywhere for the country. Civil servants and government officials are the worst. The minister must have been informed of the perfect way to stop this saboteurs but he wouldn't implement it bcoz he and his cronies benefits whenever the grid collapse. Nigerians are not ready to move the nation forward. Everyone just want to survive at the expense of other citizens.

Stop overloading the weak Grid with your Band nonsense.

Allow the Grid to work optimally, until you've added more load capacity to the grid

It's a shame that Nigeria is still struggling with stable power supply in the 24th year of the 21st century. This is 193 years after Michael Faraday invented electricity.
It is also a shame that most Nigerians don't want to pay market price for electricity, or even pay at all for electricity, and yet expect the same service as if every Nigerian consumer were paying market price for power.

The UK has lots of power...and everyone pays market price for the thing. When the thing was nationalized, there were blackouts and things like the three day week of the 1970's

This is one apology too many!

Nigerians are already used to it because it has become the new normal!

The incessant grid collapse is an indication of the general sorry state of affairs in the country.

Total Collapse of Nigeria, sorry, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), abeg, make una carry go!

There is time for reckoning. For more than 24 years, trillions was sunk in to the power sector to buy new parts and maintain the system but corruption in the sector will only service parts. Now parts of the generators are too old to continue and grid collapse is 5 times more than last year. Very soon it will collapse like the refineries and we would have to investigate where all the money went.

You are right in a way. Most Nigerian don't want to pay for electricity. The politicians started subsiding these things cos they impoverished Nigerian. Nigerians can't even afford to pay for these things with a 70k minimum wage.

In fairness to the t-pain, the grid has collapsed 8 times this year.

IN 2010 alone, it fell 22 times. Same as 2016

Are you guys kidding me? Nigerians pay for electricity to the best of their ability. But the corruption in the system has already destroyed that system. Trillions went in to private pockets in the past 26 years but nothing much was done. parts were bought substandard or not bought at all. Instead they manage what they have. Now in private hands, those generators can not be bought because it is very expensive and now they are just using bolts and nuts to hold it down.

Seriously, we don't

It costs 160-170 to produce a kwh of power.

Band A consumers make up 20% of all power consumeers, and they pay 200 and above per kwh

Bands B-E pay below N100 per kwh

Add the fact that as at 2019, about 40 % of consumers did not pay for the power they use at all. Irrespective of how many hours they get in a day.

Then you will see why we don't have light.

The corruption is a symptom of the problem, not the main thing. Take estimated billing...without it, many discos would have collapsed because there are many people who refuse to pay. SO they rip off exisitng consumers in the name of estimated billing...to earn enough money to surivive.

It's so bad that three dicsos have collapsed and been taken over by their creditors.

Private citizen can't generate electricity in Nigeria. Power generator is exclusive to the fed govt.

Though I heard recently that the state can generate electricity now. Not sure it's true cos I am not seeing any state making moves to generate electricity even from solar.

You are still copying and posting this yeye analysis of yours. Who did this to you?

Why is Aba power charging Band A customers less than 110 naira per kWh if it costs 160 naira to generate 1 kWh?
