The Guyanese government is to give each citizen 370 pounds sterling as their share of the country's oil weath. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/nov/06/guyana-cash-payouts-oil-wealth This is in sharp contrast to Nigeria where the government is taxing citizens left right and center. All citizens living in the country and those domiciled abroad are to receive the money. |

Flangelo12:Nigeria has not always been a nation of two hundred million people, stealing has always been the bane of Nigerian society. The average Nigerian is poorly disciplined and lack control putting his hopes and fears on superstitions and prayers. At present Nigeria might not be able to give every citizen ten pounds sterling but they should at least be able to have a working refinery and competent low fee hospitals. Flangelo12:Nigerians are creative enough as evidenced by their successes abroad. When I look at the broad Nigerian market,I see a lot of products made by optimistic entrepreneurs but I know that lack of electricity, stealing by staff and multiple extortionate taxation will not let them progress. We don't need to live on a par with the west but our children should not be going to bed hungry either as is happening under the present Tinubu government.
