A Nigerian man recently shared a post on social revealing that a family member asked him to pay the school fees for one of their child because he does not have children of his own.

In his post, the man recounted receiving a call from this family member, whom he described as someone he barely communicates with.

He expressed his disbelief at the request, stating, “I just remembered this family member from my mom’s side I don’t even talk to called me to tell me that since I don’t have any kids and don’t pay school fees, why don’t I pay for one of her kids? Stupid woman.”

He also mentioned that when he informed his father about the incident, his father was ready to confront the woman, saying, “I told my poppy, and he wanted to go fight.”

The money parents pay for school fees, after school lessons, daycare, house help etc is OUTRAGEOUS AND NOT SUSTAINABLE.

Saw this earlier on and I was like "werey wonders don start but nor gree end" ..

There is a reason why some people (after their plus and minus in calculation) thought it wise not to give birth now. But you would see someone, especially our women with myopic views and lack of purpose about life, giving births like rabbits. I know a (former primary school classmate) mother of one, just few years later, she now has four kids with not even a proper marriage. I believe she was expecting me to "drop something" but for where. Me way dey calculate life nor get sense or to create football team dey hard me!??

Last term I helped one of my distant cousins with 4 kids pay the school fees of one of them.

I am surprised many people calling it entitlement mentality. I believe the woman sees him as someone who is capable with little burden hence she asked him.

If people like Bill Gates, Tony Elumelu and other individuals offering scholarship many people won't rise. If you have anyone trying to get educated, trying to acquire any skill, please if you have the power assist him or her.

That thing is so crazy... The entitlement mentality. In my former office my colleagues will be telling me that "shey you are not married, you don't have any responsibility, come and borrow me 100k. Money whey be say he go cause quarrel las las cos them no go wan pay you back. You go come dey stress yourself always following up for them to pay back. (Some people sef no sabi to ask people for moni whey them borrow them cos they will be expecting the person to pay back with them asking. They are shy to ask for their money)
