Ps - if no thread, what’s the best/fastest way to proceed from UK? Nigerian passport on skilled work visa. No family to invite, so either tourism or business conference. TIA

Yes you have to fill another ds 160 . You will attend your visa interview with the old and new ds 160 confirmation letters.

You do not need to pay again. The only issue is to be certain that your current employer is in line with your previous one. For example ,if your previous employer was a University and you now work at the Bank,how will you explain the relevant of the conference to your present occupation?

Anyhow, i think i have answered your initial question.

I got it on my Post study visa, I think the cost was 185$ not so sure, applied August Abi September last year and got interviewed November last year, no family invited me, i applied on vacation and tourism and I have been to the USA 3 times this yr.

Pls I need help, a friend of mine got her USA visa from Nigeria and has been to the USA twice, now she wants to include her 3 kids who are below 14years how does she go about it? Pls

Response from the chat is that I should continue to send tickets to support until it is resolved.

Hmm I’m suspecting the issue might be with your passport number that you changed then .When you were paying to first bank did you input your correct passport number ?cos if the passport number on your profile doesn’t match what you imputed paying first bank it might be an issue .Just a thought .

I used the correct passport number in paying via Firstbank virtual account and it is the same in my profile. It was in a bid to move to scheduling appointment that it was changed. The previous issue was duplicate user

pls wch browser did you use to chat with them?.. my chat connects and a customer service rep is assigned to me, but there is no where for me to type/chat. tried chrome and IE ON PC, was yours on phone?

You have to wait for it to complete loading

After 24hrs of payment or as soon as your dashboard allows you, click on pending appointment and schedule your own appointment successfully first. After picking your own date you can then start the process for your wife.

Pick a later date, If you have more tries, keep checking for an earlier date to reschedule to.

Cost is about 150 to 180 usd.
You’ll get 5 years if approved.
You need to fill a form and after the form, book an appointment to be physically interviewed.
Note that dates for interviews are a couple of months away from the date you fill the visa form so put that in mind to plan your travel.
Interview locations are London,Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK.
You don’t need to actually book the hotel, you need a travel destination/city, address and phone number of where you would be staying throughout your trip and then fill your DS 160 form very accurately as this carries the weight of the visa decision.
If you have any other specific questions ask.

I am trying to schedule an appointment for my mom to visit me on a B1/B2 visa, and I would like to know the recommended amount for proof of funds (POF) in either Naira or USD. Additionally, is it advisable for someone on an F1 visa to sponsor her trip? Lastly, can she travel to a neighboring country surrounding Nigeria for her interview?

Pls do we need to take our own passport when going for her interview and also can myslef and her dad go in with her for d interview..please I would appreciate your response as the date is pretty close . One of the parents is sufficient to go in with her , preferably the mother , but if both of you are permitted, yes you can both accompany her. Of course you must take your passport with visa along , with evidence of parenting.

So my concern is this. I got my first us visa 2015, travelled and returned, renewed via Dropbox went to brith my daughter and then used same visa to travel for family vacation as well. Upon my renewal via IW, we were called for interview and was denied. The VO questions was around the cost of birthing my daughter though j showed all zero receipts etc, we were denied. Hubby just closed the chapter of America visa and I went further to have my second baby in Naija.
To my question, now I want to apply for a visa alone. The section that says ‘ where you refused a us visa previously’ Explain why… how do I tackle that question. Should I just state based on section 214(b) or I should further explain the issue the VO had around the birth thing?

Abeg make una help me shed light based on experience , that’s what is holding my submission of form

They already have their own comments in their system on your last refusal.

Hello everyone , I greet you all , I have been following this trend 2 years when I was planning to apply my us visa which was successful and I came to the trend again earlier this year watching for updates as I know I had plans of renewal .

First of all i thank everyone for their contribution especially Mr OyotunjiUSA who always provide helpful informations for everyone ina respectful manner .

I paid for my visa renewal in March, my visa was going to expire in July 15 but I entered US on June 29th, stayed till July 7th and went to Canada then came back to US and stayed till August 30th.

While booking my appointment for renewal, I put my old ds160 number because I didn’t have time to fill a new one then , I hoped I will change it before the appointment and then they moved to a new platform and it wasn’t possible to change it anymore .


I went ahead and filled a new one and took it to the appointment and i explained to them that I have a new ds16o form different from the one on my profile and it was accepted without any issue , I have seen many people here who are worried about their new ds160, don’t worry at all, just take your new one to the appointment and make sure you mention it .


I submitted my passport on 23rd of October and I kept tracking it and by the grace of God , it was approved on the 4th of November and issued the next day , this morning I got a mail to pick up my passport at OIS but unfortunately the am not in Lagos till end of the month .


My plans has always been to make sure I renew my visa before the arrival of Trump who might reduce this 5 years visa given to us or even end Dropbox as he has done before .


I had many reasons why I thought I would have been invited for an interview, one of the reasons is that I went to Yankee with my sis and she didn’t come back again , I always felt that her decision will affect mine , I am glad it didn’t affect mine , another reason is that I always stay around 8 weeks in America but I make sure I don’t stay up to 3 months and I spread, under the space of 2 years I have entered America like 5 times , some were as short as a day because maybe I went to Mexico and was only on transit in USA or from Canada .


I thought they might also wonder why I kept coming but I didn’t commit any crime , I also didn’t mention that I had Tax ID etc …

Anyways my people I am happy and glad that my visa has been renewed for 5 years , many people told me to stay back in America but I said No , I took the risk of returning to Nigeria to renew my visa , America no be heaven but a very lovely place sha , in the past I have to Overstayed my visa in UK and even removed from UK and for many years i thought US won’t give me Visa .


I made sure I said the truth about my Past because US shares information with UK, I was granted that US visa in 2022, I don’t really wanna overstay any visa again anywhere because of freedom of movement is sweet oh .

It will be selfish of me not to share my story incase it can help anyone , I have been a silent reader for long , I don’t even remember my password sef, so this is not me showing off at all …


Well maybe I am showing off my GRATITUDE! , I have been a memeber of nairaland since 2007 and stoped being active when Facebook became popular in 2008, this platform is very helpful when shit fits the fan , the info I get here can’t be gotten from instagram or Facebook ..

And for those going for IW renewals , all that matter is your Avitis appointment, OIS appointment don’t really matter for drop offs, they have daily lists just like VFS ! Once your appointment is on the Avitis form then your name will surely be on the list

Just a little correction to the information in bold below. London and Belfast consulates are the only ones providing non immigrant services. There is no consulate in Manchester while consulate in Edinburgh is for US citizen services only.

OK, hv gootten tru to them, seems the vpn settings on my network was ,essing with the chat page. from my chat with them, i can deduce, they are likely overwhelmed with tickets, and contacting them hastens their response to your ticket
