U obviously dont understand wat honour means....how is police wearing black armed band for 7 days a problem to u?
If it was the IGP, then what would they do? Not to disrespect the dead and his achievements but it's not necessary.

Nice but it won't stop soldiers from beating police officers whenever they misbehave.

To hell with you for that statement… if you don’t know late lagbaje just shut up. He deserves honour he’s an honourable leader.
Well this is a country of over 200million people, it shouldn't be run based on emotions. If lagbaje deserves it, I'm not against calling for a national holiday in honor of the dead, but the onion falls on the president to place such order.

Again, the Nigeria police is a sister agency just as the NSCDC and Customs etc. On what ground should the police wear the arm band and then leave out other agencies, could it be because the IGP is from same region as the late COS or is this the first time we're losing a serving COS? Common we're talking institutions here and not social gatherings.

Finally, you can go to HELL!
RIP to the dead

Nation of over-do!
Soon customs will order everyone to wear arm bands for 1 year to honor dead army chief?
After that, DSS will follow, then EFCC, and all the agencies headed by Yoruba folks.
And how did that become a generational problem to you? grin You won’t understand what honor means since you’re not from a honorary lineage

Mr. Honorary Lineage, I beg explain to us what the ordinary policemen out there has to do with army boss?
We can understand this order if the guy had died in active military duty like war front, or killed by our enemy, but the guy died of medical complications, and 99% of you guys shading crocodile tears today did NOTHING to help him when he was struggling at the hospital. Today, an over-do nation of hypocrisy is over mourning. Shame.

Honoring the dead has nothing to do with the agency he worked for prior to his death or the circumstances surrounding his death. There has been many occasions where ordinary police officers (not even a high-ranking ones) died in the US and was given a heroic last respect by almost all the security apparatuses while some where even posthumously promoted. I know you didn’t say what you said from the place of common sense but from the place of hate and bile. An army general is not just an ordinary citizen and when has paying last respect to important people become a crime and your headache? grin Your healing is on the way, don’t worry

Thanks bro, please send me the healing quick, and be sure to get some for your soul.
Nobody has problems with honoring the dead, in the US, fallen police officers are honored by their colleagues, co workers, and family. How many times has an army officer die of natural causes like cancer, and the whole security system is hijacked to pretend to be mourning him?
Your brother is the 3rd, COAS to die in office since 1999, did the national government order this type eye service for them? One of them even died in a helicopter while on active duty, not of cancer in a foreign hospital. Yet, policemen, and others were not ordered to wear arm bands. Why is this special, because he is Yoruba in a Yoruba regimehuh
The whole issue is all about eye service, not really honoring the dead. How many of you hypocritical "mourners " assisted him while he was alive and battling cancer? None. How many of you will assist the family when the cameras are off, none.
Once again, get common sense, and not tribalistic sense.

@bolded, of course, you do surely and you are yet to tell us the real reason why you are being taunted and tormented by how some persons have decided to treat their dead. Buhari not giving Attahiru a national mourning doesn’t mean another President can’t do so or has the new Tinubu broken any existing law here? Why exactly is this your headache Chinedu ?
Like I said early, the fact that you aren’t born into a honorable family and the fact that you lack noble birth doesn’t make other people honoring their dead a bad idea. Presidents can even decide to give posthumous awards, birthdays, national recognitions to the likes Stella Obasanjo, Chinua Achebe and many other dead prominent people and sane people won’t have any issue with it since it’s not against any law or constitution. Get well soon and you are being ignored now. I’m referring you to a specialist teaching hospital now. I’ve done my own bit grin

Low IQ tribal bigot.
Chinedu is such a wonderful name, unfortunately in the course of your tribalistic-Tinubu-induced rant, just having a non Yoruba name is enough to pop your top.
Yes oh, I am Chinedu, my cousin is Bamidele, my auntie is Aminata. We're Nigerians, not short sighted bigots from Osun who are suddenly claiming Lagos as their personal property overnight.
Anyway, the joke is on you. You make a bad name for black people all over the World. In certain circles, blacks are stereotyped as being emotionally labile: laugh or cry too much. That's why I asked you, what did you do to help this guy who died of cancer when he was alive, instead of displaying fake emotions left and right? You can declare 10 years of mourning or wearing armbands, but psychologically it's all about making you feel good: he is already gone.
Sure, go ahead declare all the mourning to sooth your poor soul, but great minds think legacy, building a charity in his honor, etc, but that will be too much for you, because it doesn't give you the opportunity for self aggrandizement.
